  1. These are bugs that were discovered after 10.5 was released. They will be fixed in the next version. You cam email me klinzey@nemetschek.net directly and I can give you some work-arounds.
  2. When you hover over the text do you get the reshape cursor? Try turning off your snaps. Also, there have been reports that people are experiencing a problem when the page origin has been moved. If you have moved the page origin, try moving it back and see if that works.
  3. ilitethings, The additional information you sent me is the cause of the problem. quote: After working a little longer I got an error message saying that I was missing a resourse file. You will need to reinstall Spotlight. Without the resource file nothing in Spotlight will work.
  4. Try creating a Label Legend in a blank document to make sure everything works. If there is one file that is causing you a problem email it to tech@nemetschek.net and I will take a look at it.
  5. Also try setting your layer scale to 1/4" or 1/2". At a 1:1 layer scale, the lables will appear off the screen.
  6. Kristen, Did you move both layers and classes to the proposed list? If either the proposed layer list or proposed class list is empty the OK button will be greyed out. Do you get a warning message when switching between layers and classes?
  7. You should reinstall Spotlight. If the workspace is missing it is likely that other components are missing.
  8. In order to access the spotlight tools you must first switch to the Spotlight Workspace. File>Workspaces>Spotlight. The instruments are in the Object Libraries folder. You will have to load them into the resource browser if they are not there. All of the Spotlight resources are prefixed with SL-.
  9. Have her try to insert an instrument in a blank file. Doing this will insure that the instrument works correctly on the laptop. If she is unable to insert and edit in the document, there may be a problem with her copy of Spotlight.
  10. The attributes are set within the symbol. Changing the sttributes of the instrument will have no effect on the look on the instrument. FYI: As previously stated, these posts are monitored by NNA, but this is a user board. Technical support should be obtained by contacting tech@nemetschek.net.
  11. There is a Ganging Tool and a Twofer Object. You should only use the Ganging Tool. It will palce Twofer Objects. You should never directly place a Twofer Object. FYI: As previously stated, these posts are monitored by NNA, but this is a user board. Technical support should be obtained by contacting tech@nemetschek.net.
  12. This is the a basic operation of Vectorworks. You will have to use a layer link to view all of the layers at their proper Z heights in refrence to each other.
  13. All of the Apollo, Lee, Gam and Rosco textures are designed to be used with Spotlight's Gobo Projector. They are textures, but they are not designed to be applied to a surface.
  14. A Gobo texture is a special texture. The only way to to create a gobo texture is from an image. If you have an image, bitmap, jpeg, gif etc, use the create gobo texture command. If you have existing geometry that you want to make into a gobo texture you will need to export it as an image then create the gobo. There may be other ways to create a transparent texture, but this is the easiest. Your final scaled image should be 2"x2"
  15. We are aware of the mirroring and duplicate problems. These problems have existed since version 9 and we are looking for a reliable solution that will not slow down the program. Please send tech support problems to tech@nemetschek.net. We do monitor this board, but questions submitted to tech support or Bug Submit will get a better responce.
  16. First you must import the texture into the active document. (You won't see the preview thumnail because a bug in the conversion process) Once you have imported the texture either enter the name of the texture in the Gobo 1 or Gobo 2 Field of the Gobo Projector, or click on the existing gobo projector with the gobo projector tool active to bring up a dialog and choose the texture from the list. Set your view and then render with final quality Renderworks using the settings in the manual.
  17. To see the texture you will have to: 1. Use it in the Gobo Projector and render 2. Draw a 2x2 square and apply ith gobo as a texture and render. 3. Edit the texture and view the image preview. 4. Look at the manufacture's website or catalog. All of the images for the gobos are provided to Nemetschek directly from the manufacture.
  18. Instruments do not produce light in a rendered view. You can visualize the beam in 2D and 3D by checking "Draw Beam" on the Lighting Device. See the "Focusing Instruments" section in the Spotlight manual for more details. If you want to use lights to see shadows etc. you will have to add regular VectorWorks lights or use the Gobo Projector.
  19. Rotating the Curved truss was not possible in 10.1, but it is possible in 10.5.
  20. It's a bug. You can check the Concentric box and move the focal point out to a large distance. The bug was reported just before 10.5 was finished, so the problem may be fixed in 10.5.
  21. Martin, It works for me on a simple document. I tried the "Replace with active symbol" and the "Replace Instrument" command. As designed, it kept the existing information for everyting except the Frame Size, Instrument Type and Wattage. If you have a file thet shows the problem email it to tech@nemetschek.net.
  22. David, This is a bug. You can work arround the bug till the next release by switching into concentric mode and placeing the focal point at a large distance (1000'). Ola, Place a single chair symbol in the document and verrify that the symbol is drawn correctly. If you have a simple file that shows this problem please send it to tech@nemetschek.net .
  23. The labels will always rotate with the instrument. The "Right Reading" option in the Label Legeng Manager will force the labels to rotate so they are allways parelle to the screen. The "Non-Rotating" label legend is on the wish list.
  24. The instruments will change to rectangles anytime the symbol used to represent the instrument can not be found. In earlier versions there were some problems with the degree symbol in the symbol name. This caused the instruments to turn into rectangles when they were moved to a different platform. You can use the find and modify command to replace the symbol names.
