  1. In windows, this is not possible! maybe something for the wishlist???
  2. you don't have to save you're workspace. it just so that VW saves the positions of your pallets when it closes on a normal way, then when loaded again, your workspace will look like the previous time. if VW crashes, it can be that your workspace is f*d up, so you'll need to rearrange this.
  3. i also have two workspaces, one for my laptop and one for my home pc. on the left screen are my libraries, info pallet, and restriction pallet on the right screen is the main window, tools on left side(3 columns), navigation on the right side and attributes above navigation on my laptop: tools left with a minimum of space (only those i use the most, the others are under those). info and libraries on the right side. and attributes somewhere in a corner
  4. you can make your own scripts to trigger these commands. make such a tool, set an icon for it, and place it in your workspace.
  5. or you can first set your drawing plane
  6. I have a lot of scripts with a lot of lines, and all the text is black. When i must adapt something, it is not always clear where it is and my eyes will hurt. So please bring in colors for keywords in the editor like other programming langueges.
  7. i had that too, till i found out it was that ctrl key
  8. I tried it once, but you can't choose the folder it saves it in.
  9. when i use the split tool, it splits everything it passes. most of the time i only want to split a few of those things. so maybe it would be a good thing to add the option to use the split tool only on a selection?
  10. you can make another section viewport on the first one but in the opposit direction, then mirror it and set all the lines to be dashed, it is a nice workaround. for walls of the level above, make a vp to show the walls above, then set them dashed, and you have what you want
  11. ??? they just show what you have drawn in 3D! just use annotations to put some detail to it!
  12. k, i will try that, and yes, it is a new feature, it is like the numbering of the design layers in 12.
  13. you can edit your script with the edit ('bewerk script') button, and just underneath that button is a parameter button to define your parameters that you will use in your script. these parameters each have a number. these numbers normaly go from 1 to 2 to 3 etc. and when you move a parameter, they will be renumbered. here is the problem: i got a wrong numbering: first is 1 second is 12 then 13 etc. so the numbers from 2 to 11 are gone. this is not important, but because of this, i can't move parameters so that the order is different. that's a big problem. i also noticed today that when i edit all the parameters, the numbers are good again, but only until i push ok, the next time, they are all wrong again. maybe it is a bug???
  14. am i the only one that encountered this problem???
  15. i really need to know what's happening here!
  16. i tried some stuff about the walls and i found some stuff but let me tell you first about a bug in VW 11.5 that i found a year ago: if you make a connection between 3 walls with an L and a T connection, the volume calculated in the worksheet gives you 0,000000000xxx. so that was the big problem in my calculation program i tried to make. this problem is solved in VW 12, although there is still something wrong with it! that's what i found out now, so here it comes: *if all your walls are not joined in any way, the result is correct. *if you join walls from the same thickness in any way, the result is correct. *if you join walls from different thickness in any way, the result is not the same. although the difference is minimal so the fact is that there is no bug or a faulty thing in it. it is just how those functions calculate. if you take the volume/thickness, you'll get the correct result. the functions like wallarea_gross etc. uses the center line of your wall, and if you look at the connection between walls, you'll notice that the end and begin points change when you make your connections. the worst is with a 3way join with walls of different thickness. so the minimal difference between the results of volume/thickness and wallarea_net is because of wallarea_net uses the center line from begin to endpoint. i hope it's understandeble. maybe you could send the file to me? then i can take a look at it?
  17. you'll have to make them yourself in another program like paint.
  18. that's true. but the only way for this (if you realy put them in a wall) is a redefinition of the walls, so that that boundery band doesn't show. PS: you can have a corner window (and i made a pio of it)! just make your symbol or pio. dont put it into the wall! just put it where it belongs. then edit your wall so that the place where the window has to come is free (you'll end up with a kind of l-shape). now it will show good on plan and in 3D.
  19. but what with the openings??? calculate them manually? normally those commands have to work. try to reach you're result on different way's and compare those, that's the way i mostly find the error
  20. when i make a pio, sometimes vw shows the numbers of the parameter wrong. like the first is 1 the second becomes 12 and then he goes on, if this happens, i can't add parameters or change their places, does someone knows the reason of this problem???? any solutions???
  21. it very handy for 'helping lines' like when you draw some things next to each other but the refer to some same heights. and every time i add some i have to make those helping lines longer. mostly this is for doing some elevations from a section cut. i know that you can get them with vp and all, and i really use them, but some architects i work for want them on a sheet layer, so i need to draw them apart. and then those lines are very handy.
  22. can you have an endless line? are there workarounds? if not, please put it on the wishlist, because it would be very handy.
