  1. Relocating to Wishlist and submitting request now.
  2. It hasnt gone for good so far. It seems worst around the mornings EST, then lightens up throughout the day with random spikes. I am still working constantly with the head of IT to figure it out. So far we have changed the server 3 times, moved it back to an internal test machine here, disabled the proxy and reset just about everything tied to the forums and no dice. Still hammering at it though, if anything changes I will announce it in addition to doing a little jig.
  3. It looks like this export option has been reinstated in Vectorworks 2015, however it may not be in the default workspaces. Users should be able to edit the current workspace and add it from All Menus, if they're using 2015. It may be added back to the default workspace in a service pack.
  4. Well the wall styles at the top of that list are the styles that have been used in the document already, you may want to check the list in a new blank file to see if the new wall styles you added then save din the library files you are using showed the new styles after restarting Vectorworks.
  5. If you add wall styles resources to this file: C:\Program Files\Vectorworks2015\Libraries\Defaults\Walls~Slabs\(The folder and default file you use, there are metric, imperial and localized versions) Then after saving and restarting Vectorworks, those defaults will appear in the wall styles list without the need for templates. You can also remove the defaults you don't ever want to use if you wish, leaving only the wall styles you use regularly. However if you do this, I recommend making a backup of the original resource file just in case.
  6. This is in the insertion settings for the symbols themselves, I believe they can be set to Page Based or World Based.
  7. Thank you for the other files. If you are able, could you please send in the C4D file as well? I am getting odd results even when I open the 3DS in 3DS Max and MeshLab. There is still a slowness problem in Vectorworks with this model, but I think there may be more than one issue occurring.
  8. Could you please send in the supporting files as well? its missing a few jpg and psd image texture sources.
  9. No official feature that I can see, but it does indeed seem to export them separately now in a basic test here. It may not have made the regular list, I will see where the task ended up.
  10. Could you please send in the supporting files as well? its missing a few jpg image texture sources.
  11. Same results here. This is way larger and more complex than any file I had tested before from 3DS, submitting it now.
  12. If you are still experiencing this issue and have not yet gotten an alternate resolution, a corrected version of the Vectorworks Package Manager can now be found here: http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/1275/Vectorworks+2015+Package+Manage+-+%22Install+All%22+doesn%27t+start
  13. This should be fixed soon. This is occurring for users that do not have Renderworks installed, but this was not intentional. You haven't done anything wrong and shouldn't need to change packages.
  14. I actually cant make that happen here on Mac or Windows. Could you please post a sample file where its happening? Just the object in a test file should be fine.
  15. ME TOO! Adding this to the existing request. I have submitted these ideas more or less to some extent in various areas. (I had not included rejoicing however, this is a key feature that I will add specifically.) If you are reading this and agree, please show your support with specific details or even just a +1 below. It helps.
  16. Could you resend it please? I don't keep user's files that long (security/rights reasons) and the case looks like it has been moved.
  17. I really enjoy my job. Actually, my job description has little-to-nothing to do with what I ACTUALLY do these days. I am still titled as "Technical Support Specialist" officially, but compared to other specialists my work is completely different. I love change and I really like making things better, faster, more efficient and/or easier. It may seem odd but I like that my job includes so many completely unrelated tasks and might totally be different from one day to the next.
  18. Yes, sort of. The only reason I work in STL now is that it has become a sort of de facto standard in the 3D printing world and slicing/plating software can all take the STL format. If we printed "directly" to a 3D printer from Vectorworks, there would be no need of going to that intermediary format first, just File > Print3D. You would only NEED to export if you wanted to share the file to a user that didn't have Vectorworks natively, in which case the software they were using would determine if you used STL, IFC or otherwise.
  19. I am not sure. Open Source normally means that if you use it, you must also make available any derivatives of it publicly, while Vectorworks itself is of course completely closed source. I do not know the logistics of attempting to include an open project or components of it in a software that is closed source/charged for. It may be possible for us to use them in a free module that ISN'T charged for that any Vectorworks user can download and add in as if it were a 3rd party plugin. Good question, I will see if I can find an official answer.
  20. (To clarify my previous post and because I am feeling very rant-y today;) ) I also think it is ABSOLUTELY imperative that we eventually have that all-in-one option. I built a 3D printer and tweaked it and tuned it myself, but I am a nerd (and a mad man) and like doing odd projects like that. You don't expect users to BUILD their own 2D printers and adjust them. HP doesn't ship people a box of bolts and rods and casing and ink and expect users to put it together and tune it themselves, they send a box, you take the thing out of the box, plug it in, and push a big friendly button to make it go. (Ideally...) A large part of making 3D printing come to pass will be ease of use for common users. Users that are professionals and experts at something OTHER than making a 3D printer work. If we can make it truly dead-simple so that a user doesn't need to worry about scaling or wall thickness or converting things to generic solids, just have them hit -PRINT-, then and only then will 3D printing be truly successful and start to benefit everyone in the ways that it absolutely has the potential to do.
  21. Gotcha, I'll see why its different for other distributor versions.
  22. I had thought of that as well. The main issue is that we would need to devote large amounts of resources to creating them, when really good and free ones already exist and/or come with the printer you choose. For instance, Ultimaker's come with Cura, which is an excellent slicer and basic model editor/plating app. It can be used for other printers but it is tuned especially for the Ultimaker line of printers. We would have to specifically support the various printer models and keep updating it constantly as printers come out. 3D printers don't yet have a standardized set of drivers and communications protocols like regular 2D printers and plotters do, they're still new and a LOT of customization is required in order to get a slicer application to work with a given 3D printer. It isn't a bad idea at all, I just personally feel that working on the aspects of Vectorworks that A) Already exist and B) benefit all users of all printers regardless of the slicing application they user would be a better use of time at this early stage. However, I absolutely want users to one day make a file in Vectorworks, then go to File > Print3D and I agree that it absolutely should happen that we integrate that functionality directly into our single software package as we do so many different things today.
  23. Checking now. UPDATE: Currently I have seen students getting stuck in an area where they have either submitted a proof of enrollment but it hasn't been approved yet, or they have not submitted one at all and their request is still pending. in those situations you wont see options under "Download" for requesting new versions. Still trying to get this changed so a user is notified if there is such an issue, but currently it has to be fixed manually. I will see if that is the case here.
