  1. Maybe it could also get some transparency as well as color.
  2. I just started using it because I sometimes lose my cursor in 3d views. The problem I am having is it blends into all the other black lines on my document. I would like it submitted. Thanks Jim.
  3. If I understand correctly, I think what you want to do is edit the 2d component of the symbol and put your text there. I would create a new class for this text so that you can turn it off when you don't want it.
  4. Is there a way to put in a custom class in the plugin editor for VS4 tools? I tried putting my default video class in the 'MasterClass / Parts Classes Prefix' line' but it always starts out as VS Thanks,
  5. I am sure this is something simple, but how do I change the color of my full screen cursor?
  6. I would be curious how big of a room it can capture.
  7. That is what I thought, but I thought it might be worth asking. I will bring up the bulk licensing to my bosses and see what happens. Thanks,
  8. Is there anyway to convert from one to the other. I bought the Producers Pack, but when sharing files it goes to waste with the rest of my office who do not have it. Thanks,
  9. If you want to edit a symbol and you right click on it in the drawing, you get the option to edit 2d, or 3d components. When you right click on it in the Resource browser you only get the option to edit symbol, then you have to select from a pop up window. I would like to see the edit 2d/3d and symbols options just be in the right click menu. It would say 1 extra step.
  10. I would like to see a better way to name lighting objects. Maybe there is a easy to already do this. I thought that when you use Light Symbols in Spotlight, that the name took on position and unit number (super helpful), but I can seem to get that to work any more. I think a tool like the Spotlight numbering tool when you tell it a name and every click would change a number. i.e You tell it you want it to say Wall Special, and first click would be Wall Special 1, 2nd would be Wall special 2, etc...
  11. Is there any update on getting this fixed. I just keep on getting burned by this.
  12. +1 I have had the same problem also, Usually I just us the line tool to do the measurements.
  13. Only 5 times? You are doing pretty good. I think they do that to remind you that you should save all the time.
  14. I could not find my file, so I did a very quick drawing of it. I used Loft Surface. I drew 3 nurbs curves. 1 was the curve going from the bottom to the top of the pole, 1 was from the pole towards the next pole (but I only drew half of that curve) and the last was the flat part near the bottom. Then I lofted Surface with the Birail sweep mode. Then Mirror and duplicate, and add surface. I hope this helps.
  15. I did a drawing of a tent like this a couple years ago. If I remember correctly I used 'create surface from rails' to do it.It was that or create surface from curves. I am pretty sure I drew half of 1 peak and duplicated it and added surface. I'll look and see if I can find that drawing.
  16. After playing with this a little more I have discovered the following: -I like the circles 2 patter -I change the grout color to white and all the tile colors to black -I make the absorption Color white -I made the grout Width 50% This gave me an even better looking low res LED wall FX. I attached a picture to show my results.
  17. That is pretty much exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!
  18. The attributes mapping tool cause my VW to crash just about every time I use it. In fact if it lets me do anything I immediately save it because I know the next adjustment will cause it to crash. I have literally crashed VW 25 times trying to use this tool.
  19. Why don't you just put each of your different looks in it's own class? That way when you want your warm backlights on, you make that class visibile.
  20. Does anybody have any good tricks for rendering low res LED walls. I have shows with 9mm, 25mm, 50mm, and 75mm LED walls and curtains, and I can't figure out a good way to show that it is not high res walls. I know there is the Landru plugins, which I use all the time. The problem is if you want it to create a low res wall it takes forever to create it and modify it (because it is drawing out 1000s of LED nodes and mapping content on them). I have in the past had my graphics people make me content with a LED mask on it, and this works great except I am not a Photoshop guy, and struggle when creating that mask. I just want to see what other people have done to make this. Thanks,
  21. I did one at LDi (trade show for event industry) a couple years ago. I am already pretty knowledgeable, but being self taught I wanted to see others workflow and maybe pick up some tricks. This maybe have been a result of LDi and not VW, but the advanced class was not advanced at all. We spent most of the day going over very very basic things, and spent practically no time on anything advanced. This was mostly a result of people taking the class who were new and just finished the beginner level class. The trainer however was pretty good, I stayed around after class and chatted with him for about an hour and that was useful. I believe his name was Frank.
