Brett Brown
Hi, I can't find anything on adding dimension points along an overall dimension. i.e width of walls intersecting that walls overall dimension. I see you can right click and some times you get the "add dimension" but that only works for one point. How do I keep adding many in the one operation? Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Use the Chain Dimension mode of the Linear Dimension Tool. It will not break the overall dimension, but it will let you put multiple dimensions together. Quote Link to comment
Brett Brown
Are you saying I have to make a new dimension line? I can't add points to the already placed ones? Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
If you have a single Dimension created in Linear Mode then like you said, right-click on it + select 'Add Dimension(s)' from the context menu + then it effectively becomes a Chain Mode Dimension after the fact + you can add as many extra dimensions as you like Quote Link to comment
Brett Brown
Ok, but when you "add dimension" you can only do one point at a time, then right click for another, is that right or is there a way to invoke the chain dimension right from the start? Is there a way to have a shortcut for the tab key on a mac as being left handed the tab key is annoying? Quote Link to comment

You should be able, once 'Add Dimension(s)' has been activated, to keep clicking to your heart's content + add as many extra dimensions as you like. I have no idea why this isn't working for you but someone else might Quote Link to comment
John Meunier
So VW2024, you can no longer contextual click and add dimensions 😞 Worked in VW2023. Quote Link to comment
Ross Harris
You mean the right click? Try a different workspace... There are menu issues in the design suite workspace. Changing to the architect workspace fixed the problem for me. Edited November 13, 2023 by Ross Harris 3 Quote Link to comment
John Meunier
Your right @Ross Harris, switching workspaces works. I was hunting for the settings in workspaces but doesn't seem like you can add this setting to another workspace. Definitely menu issues. Thank-you for the quick response.
