MartinBlomberg
Hi all, Slowly slowly I'm getting better at VW, still I can't get this thing to work. My goal is to have the following on a worksheet: - Section names - Count for all sections - A total count for all seats  I've tried to create but just won't get the result I want. Please see images 😃 There's also a map over all sections with different colors.  What am I missing? Using VW2021.  Thanks!! Quote Link to comment
0 Pat Stanford
The colors look like there might be some kind of Data Visualization turned on. Â The dashes in Column B indicate that there have been objects SUMmarized into those database subrows. Â Can you post the file or a simplified version of part of the file? 1 Quote Link to comment

Thanks Pat! Your absolutely right, the colors are a color visualization that works just fine. Also, another feature that I would just LOVE to have in this drawing is the ability to mark some chairs as "blocked" which the comes up as "Not for sale" in a worksheet. How do I do that without bend over backwards?  Here's a simplified version of the seating sections. Thank you so much!!  Martin Only seating sections.vwx Quote Link to comment
0 Pat Stanford
@michaelk Can you comment on your visual blocked seating option?  If you put the Not for Sale into a Record.Field attached to each seat rather than just being a list in a worksheet then you should be able to use Data Visualization to mark them a differently. You could import a spreadsheet with the blocked seats and use a script to attach the data to the record attached to each seat. Or if you don't need any other fields, you might be able to just use the fact that a record is attached.  I will try to take a look at your file later today. Quote Link to comment
0 michaelk
@MartinBlomberg check out this tool:  TheateRow.  It will be much easier to number the seats, draw the curved parts, and change the seats symbols within the rows.  The worksheets will probably be much simpler too.   Let me know if this looks interesting to you and you have any questions. 2 Quote Link to comment

0 michaelk
Ha! Â I'm trying to build that into the seating tool itself, instead of being a confusing second tool. Â Almost got it working a couple weeks ago. Â I guess it depends on what you mean by "working" :-). Â But the current version of the tool will do blocked seats. 2 Quote Link to comment
0 michaelk
To answer your worksheet question:  In column B of the database you want to check Sum Values to get everything to add up in that ='Seating Section'.'ChairsNumberStatic' column.  You can put the total in any non database row.  Just put the formula =B1 (or whatever the header row cell is for the seating column) and that will report the sum of that database column.
