What should happen if I use vstEnableMode(1,FALSE); ?

I'm trying to make a parametric object not use the first mode.

Object is not Event Aware.  Does it need to be to use vstEnableMode?

Undoubtedly, but I have never used the procedure.  Not only do you want to know if Event Aware is required, but also, what event to place it in.  Good luck; I'm looking foward to hearing from someone who knows.

It is my understanding, flawed as it is, that "vst" commands apply to TOOLS, where "vso" commands apply to OBJECTS. There may be some crossover, so like Sam, I await someone else's answer.

Indeed the vst commands are for event enabled tools. There is a way to link a custom tool to a PIO in the init event, but I don’t recall it off the top of my head.

Enabling a tool to be event enabled requires going into the plug-in with a hex editor and changing one of the bits. I believe the instructions are in one of the vst commands in the wiki. The events available to vs are somewhat limited, but you can build out the mode bar.
