Imported OBJ does not find associated textures

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I am receiving the following error when importing an *.obj I created in Cinema4D R21.

Vectorworks2020_WYcXUyjeTg.thumb.png.dbd0db7923be2bb43e6bd2f7f9174e8a.png

What is odd is the image is residing in the same directory as the *.obj, so i don't understand why it won't import.

The model is also not maintaining its UV Mapping.

Any thoughts here? @EAlexander @Ethan R.

Hmmm, not sure Charlie. I don't usually bring obj into VW and try to preserve texture mapping, so outside my wheelhouse.

I didn't think VW dealt with uv projection outside of Cubic.... Is that true?

I import a lot of UV mapped textured OBJ files from TouchCAD. Works flawlessly.  Would be nice if VW could have a Y-Z flip option in the import dialogue though, as many OBJ models use Y as up.

I find this intermittent as well.

Nothing solid to report here 😞
