Shutters in section view

Hello,

I am in need of some help with my section view. I would like to see the shutters on the fixtures and don't know how to make the show up in the section view.

Why would you need to see the shutters of a profile spot in section? Could it be that you mean barndoor accessories?

This is for an assignment and I was told I need to see the shutters on fixture. I am sure I am not talking about barndoor accessories. In all of the examples that I have seen and been given the shutters are drawn.

Those aren't stock Vectorworks symbols. That doesn't mean you can't have them its that you will need to make them yourself or acquire them from somewhere else. They are also 2D Symbols and the section you give as an example is almost certainly a 2D Section drawing. The Section View that Vwx generates is a true section of the underlying 3D Model and the 3D portion of the VWX instrument symbols does not contain that level of detail.

 

As this is an assignment, might it be better to go back to your tutor and ask for some guidance on how to make this kind of section or where to get these symbols from.

PS. There is a plugin from Josh Benghiat called Savvy Section which might actually be what you are looking for.

^ I'd be very surprised if that example wasn't drawn with Josh's plugin. There's a significant amount of extra detail there.
