Josh Schulman
In VW 2017 and prior, I had a class, Glass Lens, that I used to emulate the color of the light passing through a lens. In 2018 it is no longer working. I think I have my setting correct in the Spotlight Preferences. I have noticed that there is now a part called Lens in the Parts. What is the function of this part? Could it be messing around with the settings? Quote Link to comment

C. Andrew Dunning
Josh - 2 questions: 1) What are you entering in the "Color" field? 2) Is it s correct assumption that you've double-checked your Symbol to make sure the lens is, indeed, assigned to "Glass Lens?" I just tested this @ my end w. one of my Symbols and all works as it should. So...probably not a 2018 thing. Quote Link to comment
Josh Schulman
I figured it out. I had to assign the texture to the class. Still, what is the purpose of Part; Lens? Quote Link to comment
markdd
I've asked the question a few times. The best I could get was this: On 12/06/2017 at 2:37 PM, Rob Books said: A few years ago I began adding geometry and attaching the Parts Record with lens to it, it was hoped that we could internally default to doing lens flare or glow type effects with that but it has not come to pass on the programming side. It has allowed users to have the geometry there to do it on their own at least. maybe someday... Rob. Quote Link to comment
scottmoore
I assign my lenses to their own class for that very purpose. No lens flares but at least they glow and change color appropriately. Quote Link to comment
