Christiaan
there's no way to form this in one stair object is there? Landing at bottom, winder at top. Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
i'm sure you can make this with the Custom Stair. Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
thanks Jonathan, indeed you can but I was hoping that wouldn't be the answer. having users understand one stair tool is bad enough, let along needing to understand two. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
Standard Stair. At first I thought I would make a stair and extend the lower part to make your first landing. That would mean to fake Z Height by adding one riser to the start and subtract for the overall Height. Will not allow the direction change of your 2D walk line arrow. It would start after the landing. Also it will not work if you use different components for your steps as the lower extension has no step component. The next is to play with some of the U-type default stairs, but I am not sure if it will allow a number of 0 steps at or between landings (?) I think the normal way would be to model the first landing manually with solids. I think there was asked something similar for a first landing on the german forum but I can't remember exactly. 1 Quote Link to comment
D Wood
I think Zoomer is right - build the bottom landing, then put a stair on top. But it's a layout of last resort surely if it is the only stairway in a dwelling - the winder at the top is dangerous, esp in an emergency, and it must be difficult to get furniture up and down. No doubt it minimises the upper floor penetration, but it's on the mean side of tight. Quote Link to comment
