EAP

Hi.

Currently the EAP node extrudes down the centre of an object.

When you EAP a symbol you don't get the option to alter the position of the Symbol.

If you can offset the path it would work but would be nice if a node allowed you extrude down either side of the symbol.

LOL that was easy, I think now the symbol extrudes down the side.

Works, All you have to do is put your symbol bottom corner on the centre.

I took out these 2 lines from the node.

cntr = vs.HCenter(profile)

vs.HMove(profile, -cntr[0], -cntr[1])

Hi,

Attached is a new file adjusted so the Profile now extrudes down the side of the profile and not the centre.

I would draw your path clockwise and have you profile facing the right and bottom left on the centre in the Symbol

All still works the way that it is shown in the video.

Unfortunately I haven't found a way to do this. The symbol always re-centers itself.

I'll let you know if anything changes, though :)

Marissa,

Please see this wish - https://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=227936#Post227936

The Path Extrude Marionette node needs an option to define the origin point of the profile. It would solve all of these issues in a simpler way. VW give you easy tools to find the insertion point of a symbol as well as ways to find the edges of an objects bounding box.

Thanks,

Kevin
