Dybowski
I am having trouble getting some of the object drawn in plan to show up correctly in 3d (isometric view) I'm sure this is something to do with the Plane settings however I cannot find where I am going wrong. See attached images where I have drawn a coloured rectangle in plan. The second image shows in isometric view that the rectangle is not located on the layer plane with the rest of the drawings. I have checked that the active layer plane is selected when drawing the rectangle. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Go to Top/Plan View, select Rectangle, In Object Info Palette change the Plane to Layer. Now go to Iso view and see if it behaves as expected. Or, if it is already a Layer Plane Object, then maybe it's in a different Design Layer? If that is the case, make sure that Unified View is On... Benson Shaw
Rectangle appears to be a screen plane object. To fix: Switch to top/plan view, select the rectangle. In the OIP, change the plane setting from Screen to Layer. Now it should "stick" to the layer plane when you change views. -B Quote Link to comment
Benson Shaw
I gotta learn to keyboard faster! And, Righty O. Rectangle could be on another layer. -B Quote Link to comment

Dybowski
Thanks guys. It was the OIP that was not set correctly. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Lee, remember that you need to set the Default Plane type in the pulldown (in the middle-ish of the top bar) BEFORE creating objects. In other words, with nothing selected, change the Pulldown to Layer Plane, then all objects created will be Layer Plane objects... This will allow you to avoid having to change an object's Plane type later via the OIP (although if needed this is pretty quick and easy). Quote Link to comment
Bob Holtzmann
I've found a useful plug-in by Petri that tracks down and changes all objects to Layer or Plane Mode - it's called "Plane Mode". http://www.vectordepot.com/plug-ins/ Quote Link to comment
