Christiaan
Any idea why our components are being capped when we join walls? Quote Link to comment
bc
Maybe in capped join mode....? Depending on exactly some sequence.... Depending on which line of the component is clicked? This might be one for DWorks. Quote Link to comment
Dieter @ DWorks
I would say this is a bug, I can't replicate this in v2011. I can't use v2012 anymore cause my 30days are over. Quote Link to comment
maarten.
Your hatches are probable set to "Rotate in wall", turn that option off and it should be okay. Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
I'm using Uncapped Join Mode, no particular sequence. And it doesn't matter which line of the component is clicked (I'm using wall join, not component join). Hatches are set to rotate but turning this off doesn't help. And in any case we need the hatches to rotate otherwise they don't read well. I suspect it's a bug (or dare I suggest a "feature") related to the ability to choose a Core component. Edit: It is. If I uncheck the nominated Core component in the Wall Style it goes away when I join the wall again. Edited October 27, 2011 by Christiaan Quote Link to comment

Dieter @ DWorks
there is a tick box in the wall attribute palette when editing wall styles That's not for the issue christiaan is reporting. Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
During the conference here in London I do vaguely remember seeing something about capped components being introduced as part of the core component feature but I can't recall the context and I remember thinking it wasn't such a bad idea in whatever the context was. In any case I haven't been able to replicate this issue with the wall styles included in VW so presumably it's related to my wall style coming originally from a v2009 file. Quote Link to comment
Dieter @ DWorks
Are your fills tile fills? Because I believe tile fills do this. Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
No, hatches. But you've jogged my memory now, it was tile fills in walls they were demonstrating (which are quite impressive I might add, especially the wavy line insulation!). Quote Link to comment
Jim Smith
... so is this a reason to wait until the 1st or 2nd service pack before upgrading? Quote Link to comment
