Document Setup Menu

Recommended Posts

I know it's a dumb question but I'm pretty new to VW 2011 and I can't find the document setup menu.

I've looked at file/document settings/document preferences. But that doesn't get me to the document setup menu and I don't see a document setup menu off of document settings so I'm confused??? I want to be able to adjust the grid, layer scale, border, drawing size ect. The help menu says to go thru the file menu/document settings/document setup but no go???

Sorry for the NOB question.

It really helps to know what version of VW 2011 you have and what operating system you are using. There are easier shortcuts for most versions, but this will always work:

Adjust Grid: Tools>Smart Curser Settings>Grid

Layer Scale: Tools > Organization > Design Layers > Select Layer > Edit > Scale

Page size: File > Page Set up

Border: If you mean the border tool, that is in the Dims/Notes tool set. Just select the border tool, place it in the drawing, and you can adjust its attributes in the Object Info Palette.

That's the problem, I don't seem to have that as an option. Perhaps it's because I'm on an evaluation copy (soon to purchase) but a friend of mine is on a purchased copy and doesn't have >document setup either. Thus the confusion?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Ah no - it's only in Landmark, Architect and Designer.

As you have an evaluation version, have you checked that you are using the correct workspace? Tools>Workspaces>Designer

Should be there, under File>Document Setup>Document Settings as bcd mentioned above.

AHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Yep, I was in a custom workspace of my own. Once I got in the designer workspace BAM! it was there. Thank you so much for solving the mystery.

So, I guess the lesson is- stay away from the custom workspace till I learn what I'm doing.

Thanks again!
