Scott1982
Hi all, I am using the Landru plug in to create a drape line with pipe-drape function. Does anyone know how I can make the drape line crease in height? E.g. the drape line is 12m in length, it starts at 3m high and gradually increases in height to 6m at the end of the drape line. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
C. Andrew Dunning
Scott - For all of the SoftGoods modes (Curtain, Border, and Pipe-and-Drape), the height is the same for the whole object instance - and the top and bottom of the softgoods are always parallel with the Ground Plane. At-present, there isn't a way to "slope" the objects. Sorry... Quote Link to comment
Scott1982
No problems Andrew, thanks for letting me know. I'm sure you have hundreds of requests for additions but that would be a good one Quote Link to comment
C. Andrew Dunning
Yes, Scott, I have a never-ending list of requests for all of our VW tools. Over the years, it has been the ideas/questions/suggestions from our users that have fostered the evolution of the tools. Though we're not able to implement EVERY idea, I am grateful for all input none-the-less. So...thanks... Quote Link to comment
bcd
It's probably possible in a 3d view to Modify>Convert>Convert to Group and in an elevation view use the 2nd mode of the Split tool to split the drape as desired. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Brian Good idea. It depends on if the cut is in the top or bottom. (Not sure if Scott intends to cut the top or the bottom of his drape) Splitting the drape works well for cutting the bottom. When cutting the top, it leaves funny pleats at the top. (it behaves differently too: Cutting the top yields a solid section. Cutting the bottom yields a nurbs surface.) A birail loft will let the pleats die out at the top no matter what the top shape. mk Quote Link to comment
