propstuff
I need to map textures on to the faces of doors from the door Plug in Object Assigning the texture by class is the easy bit but I cant find anything in the help about mapping PIOs any ideas? thanks N. Quote Link to comment
bcd
Edit the door settings via double click or OIP View:Part:Int. Panels (&Ext. Panels):Class - Style? A class called Style? is automatically created. Edit it to give it a texture and it will be applied to the door panel. Quote Link to comment
propstuff
Thanks bcd, I can applly the textures by class ok, it's mapping them I can't work out. IE nominating the start of the texture and the size and orientation as you would with a standard object cheers Quote Link to comment
bcd
I don't think this is possible. You could either ungroup your PIO and edit the component parts or better duplicate&edit the texture from the Render Tab in the OIP and change it's size/scale there. To reorientate the image you can Extract Image via the RB and rotate it in your favorite image editing software. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Nicholas, this has been a long-time frustration for me as well. The only ways I know of getting the mapping correct are 1) as bcd suggests, above. However ungrouping these objects will cause them to lose all parametric functionality (not good), 2) Build your own custom symbols from scratch and use them in with the PIO (use symbol geometry)... Not perfect, but perhaps workable... Quote Link to comment
propstuff
Well, isn't that dull............ I had a quick go at ungrouping a door then customising it and turning it into a symbol again to use with the Use Symbol Geometry thing. It wouldn't cut the wall properly in Top/Plan. mmmmmm...... cheers Quote Link to comment
