Windows Magnify: handy tool

Recommended Posts

Windows magnify.exe is located in windows\system (sysWOW64 on XP x64)

It pops up a resizable movable always on top window that displays the screen area around the cursor (or focus depending on options and context) magnified by an integer.

It allows dual simultanious display of your drawing (or any other area of your windows screen).

It's handy for snapping into tight geometry without zooming.

OSX:

Preferences>Universal Access

A different concept and more useful feature in so far as vectorworkds is concerned.

I'd also suggest that it's a far better approach to accessibility.

It allows the user to use as much of the standard screen as they choose.

It also allows the user to create as much modified area as they choose.

It respects the user and thus provides them with control.

Is there something like this for VW12.5?

If you place a shortcut to magnify on your desktop, like any other application you can then assign it a shortcut key under XP.

I have magnify set to ctl-alt-z.

The only caveats are that there must be a shortcut on the desktop and the key must not be assigned to another application.

All windows shortcut keys start with "ctl-alt"
