gmm18
Strange. I wonder if this occurs for others, and if so what is the reason? I have used "purge unused objects" in the past and significantly reduced my file sizes, but today the file actually grew much larger. Curious, I ran a few tests on a new file, and yep, file is getting larger, not smaller. In this case I am running with all of the available check boxes checked. I have not gone down to see if it is any one category of objects... What do you think? Quote Link to comment
gmm18
Has anyone tried this? I don't understand why running the purge command is increasing my file size... Quote Link to comment
gmm18
I think it is the Purge Textures option that is adding 10 to 15MB's weird. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Can you try a test. Create a new blank document. Go to the resource browser and import all of the resources from the suspect file. Save it and check the file size. Now purge, save and check the file size. If this works correctly, then it is a problem with your file. If it does not work, repeat the above, but only do one resource type at a time. If it works OK for all but one resource type, you probably have a corrupted resource. Step through the resources of that type and delete the individually and see if you can find the problem. Good Luck. File size increasing on Purge is not a typical thing in VW. Quote Link to comment
RickS - Lab 8
We just purged a file and it went from 46MB to 80MB. Have not done any checks on the resources yet..... Quote Link to comment
