CAD_Boy
I was wondering if there was anyway to change the order in which an instrument was placed into a plot. This is would aid me when it came time to use any auto placement tools such as channel number and so on. I would appreciate any help offered. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
CAD_Boy
Scratch my previous comment I was confused about what I was lead to believe. However a better question would be is there any other way of using auto fill for the channel besides up to down or left to right and vic-versa for the previous two? However About the previous comment if you know how to do that I would still appreciate it because the manner in which I currently fill in the channels i would be aided with this information. Thanks. MattG
I very rarely use the actual unit number field. However the number units option is good. Now i don't do many theatre style plots, but if you had a row of 30 lights and you wanted every third numbered I would select them and use the number instruments tool then just go to modify-find/modify after you have numbered everything and have choose to swap all the unit numbers to channel numbers. Not sure if this is helpful or what you were looking for, but it is something I sometimes do. Quote Link to comment
Sam Jones
First, no, there is no way to change the order in which fixtures are placed, aka the creation order. What other way would you want to channel fixtures? It is likely that you would likely be stuck with manually clicking on lights and having a the tool or one like it automatically incrementing the channels, but describe what you want to do. Pat Stanford
Sam, Are you sure that changing the stacking order does not affect the creation order? I have not tried this with spotlight, but it does work with some of the other tools. Pat Quote Link to comment
Sam Jones
Normally, I would say I was sure, but I never even considered that changing the stacking order would change the creation order. I will do some experimenting. Quote Link to comment
