bonus
When working in rotated plan mode, is there a way to get the front, right and left views relative to the rotated plan. Is this english?... When I switch from rotated plan to front view, I get the view as if the working plane was not rotated. Quote Link to comment
paulg
I know what your saying but they are pre-set views and don't work with a rotated view. I would use 'Set 3d view' in View but keep the perspective as orthogonal. If you need to go back to this view regularly then save the view. Quote Link to comment
bonus
In a regular front view you can edit objects, move them etc. That's what I need. In a 3d view this is not possible...yet. I hope we get that soon. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
I think you are mistaken. A front view is no different than any other othogonal 3D view except it is set to the front of the ground plane. Try this. Use the rotate plan tool to make a face you want an elevation of parallel to the bottom of the screen. Select the Set 3D View command and draw a line from the bottom of the screen to the middle of the face you want to see. Set the viewer height and look to height to zero and set the view to Orthogonal. Save the View. You should now be able to return to the elevation view relative to the rotated plan using the saved view. When I do this I am able to slect and move both 2D and 3D objects. Pat Quote Link to comment
bonus
I was mistaken - thanks Pat! I had tried something similar, but had the viewer height set to the actual height of the design layer. That got it all screwed up. Quote Link to comment
