billtheia
Is it just me or has the way that floor objects work changed? Now (as before,) you can add a hole in a floor object by simply double clicking on it, entering floor edit mode, drawing a rectangle or other shape, and exiting floor edit mode. BUT now when you go back to edit the floor, you can't delete or easily move the shape you used for the hole. I swear I could do this before - the shape was still just a shape and was not merged into the shape of the floor. Am I remembering wrong or did something change in VW? CipesDesign
Not sure if this exact behavior changed, but here's one that for sure did: did you know that you can use the "add surface" or "subtract surface" commands on Floors without first entering the Floor... What does this mean? That to 'patch' the hole is as easy as drawing a shape over it (make sure the shape is "closed"), select the floor, shift select the new shape, go to Modify>Add Surface... Jonathan Pickup
Yes the simple editing has changed. I use the same method as peter, i do not enter the floor any more to edit it, just add surface or clip surface on it. it is much quicker Quote Link to comment
Jeffrey W Ouellette
Bill, You just need to select the polyline inside the floor group and "Enter Group" one more time. Then you will get the behavior you are speaking about. Quote Link to comment
