Guest
What OS are you using? What message do you receive? Quote Link to comment
j.christ
Winxp Pro. There is no warning message. VW just locks up then the Windows OS displays the send message to Microsoft to diagnose. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Update the video card - make sure you upgrade through the manufacturers website if using a desktop. If using a laptop, go through the laptop manuf. to update the video driver. Quote Link to comment
j.christ
Replaced MB last week and loaded up to date video software from manuf. Quote Link to comment
dontevenjoke
Can I ask did you solve the problem. I have the same symptoms. Quote Link to comment
P Retondo
I have a related problem, though nowhere near as serious. After using the delete key, I often have to hit "Esc" to get VW to return focus to the main window. Something seems to be up with "Delete" in versions 12.0 and up. Quote Link to comment
panthony
I have found the same problem...however, in my situation I may be causing the crash as I click to select then hit delete almost at the same time...the computer pukes. Just did it a little while ago trying to wack some dimensions. This is an extremely rare occurance. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Simon, Pete, Peter - Do you guys all have the most recent version video drivers? What is the exact message you receive? Quote Link to comment
P Retondo
Hi Katie, in my instance there is not an error message, I just notice that my keyboard shortcuts don't work until I either click on the screen or hit esc. I do have the latest video card driver, etc. This seems to occur, when it does, when I am deleting more than one object, but it happens so inconsistently that I can't pinpoint exactly what might be causing the problem. Guest
Are you using the Backspace key or the delete key? Is the keyboard wireless? Which tool is active when you delete an object? Does it happen every time, or here and there? Quote Link to comment
panthony
Katie, Answer to your question... Delete Key Hardwired keyboard Selection tool It's happened twice while deleting dimensions. I have the latest of everything in my box. When it crashes...no error message just boom...gone no argument VW vanishes. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Is it something you can repeat? Meanwhile, can you send the file along w/ a description to bugsubmit@nemetschek.net, please? Quote Link to comment
panthony
It is something so intermittent that I don't believe you can repeat it. What I was doing the last time is I needed to draw a really quick poly, dimension and print it...might have had 10 dimensions. When I printed it I slammed through deleting the dimensions. I think that I got out infront of the computer...It's happened before. Quote Link to comment
P Retondo
Hi Katie, for me, selection tool, <Delete> key, usb keyboard. Again, I just lose focus from the main window, and it happens very infrequently. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Okay - let's keep an eye on it. If you happen to discover a series of steps that trigger the problem, send it on over. Quote Link to comment
willofmaine
I've experienced this too, but infrequently. Like 'panthony,' it seems to occur if I delete something too quickly after doing something else. (I have latest software, video drivers, etc.) Quote Link to comment
