  1. I found a post that reverted the workspace back to default factory and that worked to bring back the Heliodon and Camera tools. Now all I still need is to get the Alt+key to work within VW and override windows
  2. Jim, Reboot did nothing... I am using version 2016 SP3 (Build 301288)...currently up to date with Fundimentals, Architect and Renderworks Also just noticed that I do not have use of the Heliodon tool or the Renderworks Camera tool...I was trying to perform a shadow study and get the following error when I select either tool "The plug-in tool "RenderWorks Camera" could not be selected. It is missing necessary resources or the file is damaged." The same error pop-up occurs with the selection of the Heliodon tool. Please advise...
  3. For some reason I am not able to use the ALT key with any shortcuts...whenever I press the ALT key focus is changed to the windows menu. Any suggestions...
  4. I can login to my old account and change everything I just started a new account so I could be a newbie again. It's probably under panthony@optimumve.com (no longer in service) with the login name panthony... Thanks
  5. Just wanted to give a shout out that I'm back after missing out on the last 41,000 posts over the last 8 years. Hope to get up and running very soon with VW2015. Looking forward to hearing from you all....Mike M, Cipes, Jonathan, Islandmon...
  6. you will have to create them as 3D objects.
  7. Double click on the group of objects which will allow you to edit the individual objects within that group where you can then apply the textures to your solid extrudes. Once complete select the exit edit group and return to the main application window.
  8. My elevations show only the outline of exterior walls in hidden line. This gives me a heavy weight around the perimeter of windows and doors also when ther is no trim present to hide the lines. I use windoor which gives you additional setup for weights around openings because of the number of classes window and door parts are placed. Use the wall line weights in edit wall style - component setup. You can either use the class setup here or define your own weight and color. NOTE: THIS IS FOR 2D DISPLAY If you want to show line weight variations in hidden line viewports the class line weight will show in elevation. Plus there is always class overides. pa
  9. The simple answer is yes and yes to your questions. You can break up your 3D model to as many classes you are comfortable with assigning line weights as required. There are also viewport level abilities to change line weights. The process is both simple at the class and viewport level. pa
  10. You can use the two roof objects by performing a hidden line copy the use the hidden lines to make individual roof planes for each roof. You actually have 6 roof planes to work with
  11. Curved glass using profile for extrude then multiple copy.
  12. Be careful in translating fills to DWG. I don't. Translate classes as layers since they carry a better description of the data. Translate design layers and individual DWG's.
  13. By conversion you mean VWX -> PDF. I submitted and won award for a decontamination unit with the VA and have a proposal (along with 7,400 other companies) for a forward fighting position sentry post with the DOD. Both subbmitted in PDF format per BAA specification. VW performed seamlessly.
  14. Ed, Here is the Design Layer setup I use for residential design. It is my own layer structure. I do not use the auto layer set up with VW rather I set up manually in the organization window. Here is the link to a larger format jpg. Hope this helps... pa
  15. It may associated with the auto save feature where as soon as a rendering is finished the system performs an auto save requiring a screen refresh at the end of the auto save which starts the whole process over again. Doesn't SHIFT->ESC kill the render process?
