Mahdi
Hello I'm new to Vectorworks and tried to find this on Google but failed. I need to use the wall tool to create walls, but they're too thick. I can only edit the wall thickness AFTER using it, which makes it all look wrong... so how can I apply the thickness before actually drawing with the tool? Thank you very much! Quote Link to comment
rDesign
First, you’ll need to make sure that you have a Wall Style with the desired thickness. Then, to apply a wall style prior to drawing a wall: Click the Wall tool. Click Wall Style on the Tool bar to select a resource from the Resource Selector. Alternatively, click Preferences to open the Wall Preferences dialog box, and select the Wall Style. Vw2024 Help File: Applying Wall Styles Quote Link to comment
michaelk
The keyboard shortcut for the Wall Preferences is ]. And the keyboard shortcut for the wall tool is 9 (the one at the top of the keyboard - not the one in the num pad). So the quick way to get to what you want in drawing that has no wall styles is 9]. 2 Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Alternatively, if the Wall Tool says the Style is Unstyled, you can click on the Wall Tool Preferences (wrench/pencil icon) and set the width there. This screenshot is from 2024. This is just the graphical representation of what @michaelk described above. Interestingly, prior to VW2024 it has been very hard to get back to Unstyled once you picked a style. I just tested and in VW2024 you can use the Eyedropper tool set to Pickup Sets Defaults to pick up an Unstyled wall and the Wall tool returns to Unstyled. Unfortunately, this only works within a specific file, so you can't click into a different file if you have no Unstyled walls in your drawing. 2 Quote Link to comment
