Design layers on different layer planes, need help.

In this situation I have two layers, one with pdf's as reference and one with my design. The problem i'm having is if I rotate the camera in my design layer the pdf layer doesn't follow, it stayes in a kind of screen plane mode.. Same thing if I activate the pdf layer and rotate the camera. Then the pdf's are "on the ground" but the design layer is floating in screen mode.

I've had this problem before and just worked around it, but I'm sure it's a setting or a workflow thing I have done at some point but I don't understand how to fix it. Some help would be appreciated.

It would be good to know which version of Vectorworks you're using. My first thought is that you do not have unified view turned on. You might find this in the document preferences under legacy 2D options.

I'm currently on spotlght 2023 on pc.

I managed to fix the problem by switching off the "Ignore layers with different scale" Under Document Preferences>Display tab. 

I don't really understand why that matters since the layers both use the same scale. But i worked at least. 🤷‍♂️
