0 BartHays
Hey Alex, First, I would start by downloading the SPECLAR workflow from Poliigon: From there, create a new Renderwoks texture, In the Color shader, pick "Image", and choose the MetalGoldPaint002_COLOR... file. It is just black. ( or you could pick "Color" in the shared box and select blck) For the Reflection shader, pick "Image" and pick MetalGoldPaint002_REFL...file this provides the gold color. Finally. in the Bump Shader, Pick "Image" and select the MetalGoldPaint002_DISP file. This should give you everything you need for the texture. Set a background so the texture has something to reflect, I chose Physical Sky Mostly Sunny (View>Set Renderworks Background) Now, make sure you are rendering, with Renderworks ( not Redshift) I use Custom Renderworks, All Low. I Admit the texture mapping looks off, I'll see if I can figure out the right mapping. . . Bart Edited August 13, 2023 by BartHays 1 Quote Link to comment
0 Popular Post BartHays
I started playing a bit more. I added 15% blurriness to the Reflection shader. (I sized the image size in the texture up to 48" to match the object I was creating.) I think 2 things are really important. First, Cranking the Quality setting up to High makes a huge difference in the Quality of the reflections. Second, make sure there's plenty to reflect. The image below is exactly the same. The only difference is the Background HDRI. Note that Blurriness and Displacement are turned ON in the Custom Renderworks Settings and that the Environment Lighting is from the Background Image. I also have a Heliodon in her for lighting. VW Fille is attached also. Bart Texture Test.vwx 6 Quote Link to comment
0 markdd
It’s worth saying that the Poliigon website is easily the best texture website I have found and although you need to pay a monthly subscription, it’s relatively modest and the quality of the content is excellent. Quote Link to comment
0 Alex M
Hey Bart, This is amazing, thank you! I couldn't quite get your results, but I do like what I got regardless. I tried copying your setting from the Renderworks Texture and the Custom Renderworks Render Mode, I also tried adding some objects and lighting to the scene. One thing I couldn't do was map the texture in Perimeter mode, but I tried both Auto-Align Plane and Surface UV. I can use what I got though, thanks again. Alex 1 Quote Link to comment
