Tobias Kern
Hi Forum, greetings. With some worksheet formulas, it isn't really clear to me, what to get and how to act with the result. Sometimes you have to use =value to convert a string to a number, sometimes this isn't necessary. I want to check what kind of data (string, number, …) I get, with a worksheet formula Does anybody know a special way to solve this. something like: =datacontent() Thanks in advance and have a nice day Greetings from Germany Tobi Quote Link to comment
Tom W.
@Pat Stanford's excellent PIO record field script might help...? It will create a worksheet for a selected object + list the record field names plus the field type: I realise this is not quite the question you are asking as it gives you the field type ahead of time whereas you're looking to find out after the fact. Tobias Kern
Hi, okay, we can get the field type with script. Is it also possible to integrate such script into a worksheet itself and specify from which field type I want to get the data? Greetings Tobi Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
I think you can do that with a Worksheet Script. That is a Vector(Python)Script that is placed in a worksheet cell and run whenever the worksheet is recalculated. This thread will probably help you get started. 2 Quote Link to comment
