unable to adjust wall thicknesses in object information palette

doe anybody know why vw prevents wall thickness editing in the object information palette - why would this convenience be removed?

You probably have a styled wall.

 

You have two choices.

 

1.  Edit the wall style.  In the OIP 3rd from the top is the pull down for style.  I'm guessing it does not say "Unstyled".
   1. click that pull down and choose edit style to change every wall in the drawing using that style  OR
   2. click the pull down and choose replace to choose a different wall style. OR
2. Unstyle the wall.  Click the pulldown and choose "Convert to Unstyled Wall"
   1. Now you can click on Components… in the OIP to edit the selected walls components OR
   2. Delete all the components to get a "default" unstyled wall whose thickness can be controlled directly in the OIP.

if the wall is styled, then you should not be allowed to edit the wall thickness. If the wall has components, then you should not be allowed to edit the wall thickness, afterall, which component should adjusted?

 

I wonder if your wall has components?

I tried in both 2022 and 2023 and it works as expected.  

 

It looks like you are using an older version that that.  What version of VW, what kind of computer, and which operating system are you using?

ok that might be it - I am upgrading both computer and vw in the next few weeks
