Open solid DTM

I created the attached DTM from 3D contours but when I view it as a rendered solid it only shows the bottom faces and appears empty.

You have lots of very spread-out geometry + it's all very far from the Internal Origin i.e. 1000km...

 

Move closer + all is fine:

Objects far away from VW origin (more than about 4 kilometers)

is always the reason for any kind of severe problems and failures in VW.

This happens to so many users, not only new ones.

 

So before you could even install a VW, you should be hinted by a large

warning in EULA, that you shall not ever try to draw/import/place objects

outside of the save drawing area.

No, VW should even prevent the existence of any objects larger or out of

its save drawing area.

Just to not let users trap into that fact and avoid that negative experience

that users will get one or more times in their VW career.
