  1. Depending on the answer, this may belong in the "Wish List" forum section... Does anyone know if it's possible to do braceworks connections with a grapple connection? I want to set a truss spanning in-plane between two rigged trusses. In the world, we'll use a grapple per manufacturer's specs and approved by an engineer... but in the planning stages, can I calc that somehow? Options I know are possible, but don't want them: 1. Extend the truss, put it on top of the rigged truss, use a simple Truss Cross connection... problem, I know I'm getting close to the venue's capacity, so I don't want to start adding ~10lbs of truss weight at every connection point because there's 100 of them. 2. Same idea, but hung below. Same issue. And either way that'll mess up counts of steel cable/truss as it won't be accurate across a large project. 3. Add motor to each end of the spanning truss, take that Low-Hook-Weight, add a point load to the primary rigged truss... overly complicated, there's a lot of these connections, and opportunity for human error in the calc. Plus any modification to the layout and spacing would mean redoing everything, not just dragging a truss around which pulls objects attached to it with it. Like I said, maybe it's a wish list item... Thanks for looking -
  2. Hi, I am experiencing a 'Chain is under pressure and has failed' error on a mothergrid structure. In the real world, this wouldn't be failing, so I am confused about why Braceworks is seeing an error. I have tried turning on 'compensate drops', but this seems to have no effect. All the motors seem to be included in the calculation, but the 4 with the error are not the reporting any loads. Any help would be great!
  3. Hi all, Is it possible to connect a Structural Member and a Truss together? I have a venue which uses truss spreaders on top of I Beams. I would like to connect all the sub-hung hoists/bridles to these spreaders, but these spreader trusses throw errors as they aren't suspended. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
  4. Hello everyone. Does anyone knows a way to select only the deadhang bridles in a drawing? I can't figure out how to do it. If I select a Deadhang and try to do a select simular option. It also selects all 2 and 3 Leg bridles. Greetings Martijn.
  5. I'm trying to accomplish 2 things: Add a Pull-Back bar symbol to the bottom box in the array Keep the rigging frames that are in the original speaker symbol My assumption is that these objects are not visible in the array because they don't have a record attached to them... Just trying to get one step closer to this reality:
  6. Hi, I've created a hinge for prolyte S40T. When I attach a truss to the hinge, it snaps correctly. But when I attach the hinge to a truss, the magnets move as you can see on the picture below. How can i resolve this problem? kind regards, Mathijs van Ommen
  7. I placed a hoist origin into my drawing along with hoists, however, the "Spot #1" hoist origin is not a option in the OIP under "Measure From" Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
  8. Hello, I'm trying to sort my hoist report by X and Y dimensions, however Vectworks doesn't seem to be recognizing the difference between the positive and negative values. All dimension cells are currently formatted as a dimension. Not sure what I'm missing, any help would be appreciated!
  9. Hello users. Does anyone knows how to setup the Bridle Configuration so that is empty. Now every time I add a bridle Vectorworks automatic adds steels, shackles and stuff into it. Is there a way to keep it empty? Greetings Martijn.
  10. The hoist tool seems to no longer have a "load weight" field in VW2021. I used this field to create simple rigging worksheets for the last several years. Now I am struggling to find a way to make my old workflow work. Has anyone else run into this and found a workaround? I don't have Braceworks, and don't intend to make that purchase anytime soon given the way 2020 went...
  11. Looking for generic symbols for things like C-Clamps, Mega Claws and Clamps, Side Arms, tail downs, extenders, tube extenders, Safer Side Arms, etc. Does this exist already? I've checked the Service Select Portal and don't see anything there...
  12. Hallo Forum users. Does anyone know why i can't calculate this small cantalever? Weight wise should it not be a problem. Any idea's? Greetings Martijn. Braceworks error.vwx
  13. I am having an issue getting things like Speaker Arrays, or projectors/Screens to attach to truss to be included in the weight calculations ANyone have a solution?
  14. Hi to all; Do anyone know any way to associate a hoist with a pipe or truss or any element to work together, and take the weight loads automatically. Or do I trim the loads on every hoist manually on every height change? This maybe a noob question but if there is a way I can't find it on forum or resources. Thanks.
