  1. I understand that. Ceiling joists have weight. Along with drywall, or whatever the ceiling is including insulation. If a joist is at top of wall, it is not a collar tie.
  2. They probably go by the premise that if no one reports a bug then there aren't any, or based on bug report quantity count. We should not be the beta testers to find the bugs. In their minds it is probably considered a more viable solution. Why spend the time and money fixing what is wrong when the users will tell us and we will fix the bugs then, maybe. Just a guess, but when one reads the bug fix list report of the SP's one begins to wonder. Do they not test (real world) the product before shipping it?
  3. It would be great to have the ability although one should not end notch joists. Would require hangers or a ledger. Should have the ability to show joist hangers in plan and 3D as well.
  4. Miguel, OK. When I manually create an EAP for window trim (rectangle) and choose profile, then do EAP the corners miter fine. I still need to try this using a script.
  5. Miguel, Thanks. Are you saying that using EAP in a script it won't miter the corners? That would not be good.
  6. Anyone have or can inform me as to how to go about creating a script to draw profile trim for doors and windows. I want to be able to select a profile and then using EAP (unless better method)draw this trim so it shows in 3D. See image of result I usually do by no script methods.

  8. Header in the states refers to the structural horizontal member at the top (head) of the opening. See image.
  9. They are usually dotted lines that show in plan view that represent the header for the opening.
  10. steelydev, currently there is no way to vertically stack components when creating wall styles. Been on the wish list for quite sometime. To create the look of multiple sidings, use a planar surface and apply a texture to it. Might be able to use extract tool. Not sure about its use in VW2012. Been awhile since I used that version. As far as reporting goes, other users are better suited to that purpose to answer your question.
  11. Matteng, You may already be doing this. See Image Select Door Click on Settings Button Click on Hardware at Left Column Check the Include Hardware Box Click on Manage Hardware Make sure of the hardware lists is highlighted (usually blue) Click on Edit Button
  12. Vincent, I agree. I think it is more about the powers that be wanting to more than difficulty. Vectordecks is working on curved decks, railings and spiral stairs for the next release. It seems to me that they think everything must be "designed/modeled" in order to have the freedom they propose. Leave the design tools there for those that need it or to use when needed. Interiorcad for cabinets is great, could be made simpler. Select cabinet size, frame style, door style, # doors/drawers, etc. Should have libraries of these already. Why do we need to draw hip & full hip returns for roofs? Should be an option to check. Why do we need to draw corner boards or frieze board for homes? Should be an option. Footings for walls should be an option, so that when you draw a wall the footings are there as well. I wish I knew more about how to use Vectorscript or the SDK and I would create these tools/options myself.
  13. Bruce, Here are options for showing hinge see image
  14. Bruce, Click on the door you inserted to select it. In the Object Info Palette, click on the flip button till you get desired position See image

  17. Thanks! Another great tip! Time to create some door slabs.
  18. What do you mean by draw the panel negative?
  19. I tried using wall cabinet tool. Multi Panel Raised It gives only 4 panels Set stile & rail to 0" Set depth to 1-3/4" Set height to 80" Set width to 36" Here is what we get
  20. Should I create the panels using EAP & a profile? Sweep Tool? Loft Tool? This style leaf should be in our libraries as a standard IMO
  21. Thanks. I have tried that route already. It is not a raised panel door See image
  22. I have not been able to find in the Libraries or Custom leafs a raised 6 panel door (interior / exterior). Very common here in the states. JELD-WEN or ThermTru libraries anywhere?
  23. Oops! Thank you. I will fix that.
