I upgrade every year Why wouldn't I? I reckon if you do not you should put your money where your mouth is Be loyal and support this great bit of software Vectorworks is too cheap anyway Should be more expensive I run some huge files for landscape designs and get crashes sometimes Mostly though I can predict them and therefore Ctrl S as necessary prior to doing some things When I get the rare crash - yeah turn away from my puter and say rude things but mostly laugh as I reboot, make a cup of tea and am so grateful to be using Vectorworks to help with what I do D

Assuming they will transfer without any problems 2012 to 2015 Can you get them all into a Folder and use File/ Batch Convert?

What I am trying to say I understand you can use different species types in a Landscape Area I want also 'Total Plants' Watch this http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cojZQNfgpx D

When using the LAT I want to be able to define the quantity of plants placed as a direct input rather than adjusting the rate per sq meter or foot or whatever depending on where you live and what measurement standards you use. So if I have a landscape area with 54 plants and wish to reduce it to say 32 it will adjust the area rates or species percentages etc Make sense? D

I started placing these squares ones on the left from the top down Copied them to the right and used Align/Distribute Distribute Horizontally (Spacing) What happens or how do we get them to stack left to right rather than right to left as they are See attached file D

@hippothamnus, Thanks mate understand all of that and normally have several houses on one sheet and then in worksheet columns would have headings of house 1, house 2 etc and materials listed down in the rows with totals at the end Know all of that This client is from another state and just beginning to operate in my home state and have been doing it the other way there Thanks for your input and interest @Pat Stanford, Thanks mate Will give it a whirl and let you know Darrell

Hi and thanks for the replies Have a landscape design project with 160 plus houses Because this file is just a demo really with a single house I have not used location polys with it That is not my problem and I know how to do that later I want to be able to use an A4 Sheet for each house on a separate Sheet Layer All houses will be drawn on a Design Layer with a named separate location poly around each to enable quantifying by lot Worksheets it seems can have two names One where you name them in the RB and the other named in the OIP Data Tab What I want is to name a WS preferably in the RB but if necessary in the OIP Data Tab and have the name appear in Cell B1 of that WS Make Sense? See attached file

I use the wall tool a lot and to see what the overall width of a wall is going to be prior to drawing it if I am correct you have go into Preferences to see it I know real estate on the bar is tight but could the wall width be displayed in the Mode Bar if that is what you call it?

Me too I always thought to expect a different result was asking too much of the software with my custom rectangle plant symbols etc Now though hedge plants and I have several as squares can line up on an angle So for this +1
