  1. You don't have to convert anything. You can have a viewport transparant in a pdf: (just by using layers opacity and opacity setting in pdf export.)
  2. - Then you must keep the symbol like you had. - Convert the auto-hybrid to it's 2D objects - cut and past into your symbol 2D part.
  3. Just do the following: - go inside your hybrid symbol 2D container - delete all 2D elements - go inside your, now 3D, symbol - create a auto-hybrid from the 3D parts.
  4. Not in VW2012. Didn't used it yet in VW2013.... The strange thing is that this bug isn't always there in every file....
  5. We have wall styles and info in them for IFC export. But an unstyled wall doesn't have this info, why? I want this for unstyled walls too. We now need to have too many wall styles because they are not flexible enough. Wall styles should only have it's info and the components, but not their Heights, offsets, etc... I mostly convert to unstyled walls because of this, but then I loose all the info, so make this info in unstyled walls also, or make the wall styles more flexible, for example: let us set info for components and adjust their with in the walls tyle. Then the walls tyle can calculate the info itself, ....
  6. A section viewport will still show it wrong....
  7. There is a bug that can give your dtm in a section viewport the attributes of the attributes palet. Set the attributes of the attributes palet to the ones you want the dtm to appear, then render your section viewport again. See what happens.
  8. There is actually no need to create a section viewport, you also can have just a normal viewport like this: This is a combination of two viewports where you can still have 2D info on top of the 3D rendering.
  9. If you really want to do this, I would use a symbol with a record attached to it. You can then enter the date and other stuff through that record. But I would not recommend doing a calendar in VW. There will be much manual work. Can I suggest the following: wwww.tomsplanner.com There is a free version that I use for some clients and I really am happy with it. It's very easy to use and I think it's more of the thing you are looking for. There will be more programs out there on the net... maybe a wordpress website/blog, there are many plugins to use and there may be a calendar/planner app that suits your needs.
  10. Look at the picture for one way of doing this: Some tips on things you are doing 'wrong': - Always use attributes by class for everything! Only this way, you will get all out of VW and you will have all the flexibility you will want to have at the end where you are creating your presentations. - Draw accurately! You have a layer drawn with lines as an underlay for the walls, but none of the wall align with those lines. This is really bad practice and will give you bad results with many errors and extra hours to fix them. Drawing accurately may seem to take more time, but in the end it takes less time. - You do not need to have a wall style for every possible wall in the drawing. It can be a benefit if you do it, but if you don't export to ifc and you are not changing wall styles a lot during the project, then you really don't need to do it, unless there are other benefits I don't know off, but then I like to hear them...
  11. Wall recesses just do not work. Use a symbol instead, you can do so much more with it.
  12. The remove wall break also works on end caps, I just did it.
  13. Here are almost 400 classes, just to get the flexibility and ease of workflows VW can provide. All my objects' attributes are always set by class, so I never have to use the attributes palette, and that is such a great thing because you have all the control over your drawing, all the time. Only if VW could have two fills for each class, one for the section and one for the surface, then I could delete a lot of classes, because mostly I have duplicates because you need and the section fill and the surface fill for some objects!
  14. You are correct. No way to do that.
  15. Just use the wall heal tool and then create the wall end cap again. Works here. You got the cap because you have select the one component to go to the side of the wall instead of the other component. Make sure the compontent lights up and not the wall side when doing it.
  16. Yes! I also want them back, they were so nice....
  17. That's only for the section part of the section viewport. The things behind the section will not be merged. I always use a section viewport for my elevation, but not because of what you say, but because of all the terrain and garden stuff I don't want to see, plus it gives a nice ground poly. For your lines, make sure everything is aligned. Even if they look aligned, they can be misaligned! To be sure, first drag the wall way beyond the wall above/below, then move it back to where it needs to be. VW doesn't really do small distances well. So as a general rule: move it back, then move it to the correct spot. If you still have problems, please post the file so we can look at it.
  18. Why not put the 3D part of the symbol into the auto-hybrid and only let this auto-hybrid into your symbol?
  19. The whole site modifying needs to be easier with far more control, that I'm aware of. I only wanted to share a way you can do what you want know, in some degree.
  20. I only use wall styles to 'save' wall in our library. In fundamentals, you can do this by saving a piece of wall as a symbol.
  21. Go to Option A... use a tool that lets you select which elements you want on that option, start clicking. If it's smart enough, it'll let you select which elements show up in which option. This would be way easier to control than layers, as changes could populate thru certain options, but not others. Thus options could share certain elements. Right now with layers, and viewports you need to create several viewports to show the options you want, and annotate accordingly. A single design option switch would be responsible for changing the entire document. The problem I was trying to show with this is that there is currently no easy/good way to implement this into the software because we don't have a database-kind of centralized model yet... (which is BIM...)
  22. Can't you use a nurbs curve in the correct class (Terrein-DTM-Bewerkingsobject for the localization here.) for this? Putting any nurbs curve in that special class will make it a dtm modifier.
  23. This depends on what you want to accomplish in BIM. BIM has a broad meaning and you must first determine what and how far you want to take it, then you have to look if it is possible with fundamentals.
