Graphically insert 2d lines in hybrid objects?

Hi Petri, This is a valid point you have. There are, in my eyes, only two ways to go about it: 1 Don't talk about them and only give or sell to your users. 2 Go to NNA, lift the smallest tip of the vale and see what they might think. in number 1 you still have the risk they might come up with the idea on their own account. in number 2 you may have waisted a plane ticket or lifted the vale a notch too far. It is really a difficult terrain. I have mostly choosen for number 1. I add value to VW I don't talk about, only my customers will benefit. Some things that are too difficult for me to implement I ask NNA to do on the wish-list. I don't sell my Plug-ins independently. Are there 3rd party developpers who ever managed to sell a Plug-In and make enough money on it to pay for the hours? As far as RA stealing your ideas, it is more or less his job. We can only pray NNA has the decency to stay away from readily developped products or at least contact the author of the product. There are already a few examples in VW that makes you wonder why the original developer keeps on pushing his/her product on his/her own site while an almost similar idea is now implemented in VW. There was probably no contact. Did NNA know about the original product? It would be great if there was a serious 3rd party section on the NNA website. It should iinclude a guarantee that products listed there will not be used by NNA (or at least not without prior notice) it would mean you could savely advertise your products there. For me a heads up on their plans, regarding development of ideas that were mine to begin with, would be enough most of the time. It would save me a lot of development and maintenance time. Keep in mind that I never talk about the real stuff, so there is almost no way NNA could know they are fishing in my pond. Have fun.

    door ID problem

Hi Robert, Could this be related to the problem that we can't check the position of a PIO from inside the PIO? The function Get Origin, returns the position of the PIO, instead of the User Origin. I really hope this gets fixed. Thanks, Gerard

    Dude, where's my plug-in?

Hi Petri, I have to agree with you. I don't like the User library idea either. I have the " preciousss" folder in my Plugins folder, nut still endup with two plug-ins with the same name. BTW, Not giving full access to the VW application folder for Mrs Joe will cause VW to behave strangely. When she is trying to use it. When I come acreos a Puter that has mulit usewrs I always give all users full access to the VW folder. Gerard

    Menu command parameter record

One little remark to Orso's comments. When you setrfield from within your script and try to read the data again using Pparametername you won't see the change. Only a second run of the script would reveal the changed data. So If you plan to use the changed value again in the same run you have to read in the parameters to VARs and assign aswell the VAR as the Plugin's parameter the new value. Gerard

    reshaping an object

I have two machines next to each other, one running 11.0.1 the other 11.5 I can't reproduce your problem on them. The usual remedies perhaps? Zap the PRAM (alt+apple+P+R at start up) Repair permissions Keep your mac running overnight Succes, Gerard

    confounded dongle

That sounds like Cumulus. We had the whole problem with hardware replacements too. That is absolutely not the solution. You do know that it is perfectly legal for you to go on holiday to the US and buy yourself a dongleless VectorWorks version there? The problem is ofcourse the upgrades. (And now with 11.5 even the update) but it is legal as long as you do it only for yourself. as I added to dongle madness: The dongle is not the solution. The dongle was introduced to protect the interest of the tranlators of VW. I believe they had a point. The dongle is still the wrong answer, and surely for the English version. Regards, Gerard.

    More Dongle Madness!

Hi Mickey, After a few of my windows clients ran into dongle trouble I was send to this driver by one of the guru's. I believe it was meant for a different dongle type nevertheless it works well. Since I am on Mac myself I have no idea about command line etc. ftp://ftp.ealaddin.com/pub/hasp/hl/windows/installed/redistribute/drivers/HASP_User_Setup.zip I agree with you. The dongle is the wrong way to increase your sales. It lies the burden for illegal use of the program at the wrong persons doorstep. Even if you don't take in account the dongle less version sold in the US. The program would be broken open real soon anyway. VW is simply to popular to dongle. Dongles are meant for higly specialist applications that have only a handfull registered users world wide. There must be a reason why PhotoShop is still undongled adn why Quark is dropping the dongle. Regards, Gerard
