  1. I often need to work with Civil 3D import and export. I have attached three files. One is the orginal file from the Civil. The second is the file imported directly into VW. The third is a file that has taken 3 hrs to get workable. My client asked me to take the file and create a graphic. I had to completely recreate the road and grading plan as their is no way for VW to read the complete grading plan. Also, 3D symbols must be broken down. Poly line simplified considerably so VW can deal with it. 2018-10-17 BLUE WATER-PE-2.dwg 2018-10-16 BLUE WATER-PE-2.pdf Ecoplan 23b Oct.vwx McDonald align 23 Oct PLC.pdf
  2. To add to this - would be nice to be able to use road sections similar to autocad. (ditches, cross slopes, curb, gutter, sidewalk, side slopes) I presently will create my own rough cross section (contour line that resembles the result I want and cut and past every 25' and modify the z component.
  3. I am having the same issues. Dreading the start of another ballfield project.
  4. @ericjhberg I agree totally. When much of my work creates extremely large files, especially grading and irrigation. My machine is no slouch. It seems (at least in my way of thinking) that there must be a way to use less processing power. Other competing programs do not seem to have this issue.
  5. Just need to make sure additions do not require more resources. I have a new hot machine and when I get into 5 plus acre irrigation projects, the resource demand really bogs the machine down. Either that or figure out how to write more efficient code.
  6. I would like to see the ability to select a valve and have all components show selected.
  7. Also, would be nice to be able to create vertical curves
  8. I would like to see the ability to change Road Grade Limits to be assigned station to station and side to side within station to station constraints. Would allow for retaining wall simulations in one spot and a graded slope in another. More flexibility
  9. I need to be able to send road layouts, lot lines, pads, etc to civil engineers who use Civil 3D. Anyone have pointers. I find it increasingly difficult to get them my planning info.
  10. So what you are saying is that a quad core machine is no better than say a dual core and that processing speed is most important.
  11. Can VW access more than one core on a quad core machine?
  12. JIm I have been having the same issue.
  13. I have a 600 acre contour map. I would like to trim the contours back to work on a specific area to lower the file size. Is there a way to do this?
  14. I would like to see editable irrigation symbols. I would like to be able to just have a pipe size numeral, not the metric ie - "in"
