We are reverting back to old school referencing because the Project Sharing just does not work.  We even did a Dropbox experiment, and were being forced 3 times a week to create new project files and working files because of errors and corruptions.  Certainly was not worth it for us to run 2 operate cloud storage to try and use a feature that was only partially functional.

Still would love to see a File Stream solution - we would be more willing to try and sort out the issues if it did not require us to abandon our current cloud solution.

Sorry to hear that it is not working for you guys either. Thank you @Tom Klaber for sharing your experience. We too are interested in using Project Sharing more consistently. But Many of our Clients are already set in their File Stream workflows. Maybe another year or another Service Pack things will be different.

I've been setting up drawings with multiple sheet layers since they were introduced years ago.  Using Page Setup, I use settings from a PDF "printer" I've used for years that allows custom page size options.  I've got a routine that has worked for over 5 years; maybe a decade even.  I then output them via the Publish command to PDF.  I have a standard setup for the options in the various Publish windows, which have also worked fine for years.

Now in VWX2020, I've been using the same process and getting weird results.  PDF's exported as "Letter" sized are coming out as 8.5"x11" drawings, on larger paper, like 9.5" x 24" wide.  Not standard paper sizes; nothing I've ever specified; but it could be the scaled size of the VWX window on my computer monitor desktop.  These files print fine, but viewing them in a PDF viewer doesn't work well. as the PDF viewer thinks the file is supposed to include all the unused white space outside the actual image.

I'm also seeing the PDF's clipped off, as visible on the VWX window on my monitor.

It's like instead of publishing the PDF per the specifications entered in Page Setup, VWX is now publishing screen shots.

    Anybody else seeing this?

@Matt Hunt did you discover a solution to this issue? We are seeing this as well when publishing through the Publish command to a set of PDF. The sheets are appearing as small sections. Not what was layed out on the Sheet.

This is happening on PC and Mac and appears to be an issue with the file, not the OS or version of Vectorworks

    Well here we go...

I took the plunge six months after the official release of Catalina and having failed to renew the Service Select.

I have downloaded Catalina and have been running VW 2019 with good success.  It is as stable as it was under Mojave six months into that update (the first three months of Mojave/VW2019 were a nightmare).

As others have said, wait six months after each Apple OS and Vectorworks annual update and you have far less chance of losing productive time while the two catch up with each other and iron out incompatibilities.

Hows it going the past few weeks? Still stable?

Backup and Sync is no longer available for GSuite - and is not supported by Vectorworks.  At this point Dropbox seems like the only supported "cloud" service.  So frustrated that such a core functionality has been forgotten.

GDrive - File Stream is increasingly being used by our clients and we have used it for 5 years now. We imagine it's not going away soon and will only become more popular.

Any updates expected for this @vectorworks?

MacOS Catalina no longer supports 32-bit Applications.

Discovered this right as I was about to pull the trigger on the upgrade.

Some of our beloved word processing software of the past and nostalgic games will no longer run.

Oh yes, and most old adobe software that is not within the Creative Cloud

HUUUGE news for many production teams.

Before you install, do some due diligence:

    1. Click on About this Mac under the Apple icon (upper left)

    2. Click on System Report (Lower left)

    3. Scroll down to Applications under Software

    4. Click on Applications and give your system a minute to tally

    5. A column to the right can be sorted based on 64 bit

    6. Anything that says NO, will be lost and inaccessible after the OS upgrade

    7. Do yourself a favor and uninstall these listed programs before your OS upgrade.

Notice many of the 32-bit applications are uninstaller apps. Makes for removing old software a headache when the uninstaller doesn't work 😞

  6. Very much looking forward to using SideCar on MacOS to host second display on iPad. Great place to park all the Tool Palettes not available on VWX Remote. Also would be great to use for having the Resource Manager on its own screen. Or a great preview screen for the new animation features in VWX2020.

Keep up the great work VWX Team!
