Why has my section viewports no or few details?

I agree with JEff, Site model references the survey data which i always set to design layer zero. that way all the survey data is measurable and if you get a .CSV file and use import survey data your mode is generated instantly relative to world co-ordinates.

Why has my section viewports no or few details?
AlanW replied to Ragnar's question in Troubleshooting
@RagnarHi, Have a look at the attached file. Walls need to be on classes and components also. Edit wall style and look at each section an you can see how they are set up. HTH Walls.vwx -
@mdrohnHi, Not sure if this is what you want?? I made the coloured objects each by class otherwise you cant change them in viewport. Have to make a seperate class of all the items you want to change in a viewport, ie red, blue green etc. You can change the entire design layer to any colour you want see the viewport and by colours. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qd9JXJzI9AY The pdf is harder but i used the image adjust in the viewport to make it black and white. HI, Yes a known but apparently very complex issue to solve. Generally they will appear correctly if you go to Vectorworks Preferences > Display tab and uncheck Accelerate Graphics however. After making this change, you may have to save the file then Revert to Saved for it to flush the graphics cache.(As i have been told) So I am having issues with a worksheet in a crop. If I crop it and move the crop up or left it works, if I move it down or right they viewport is blank. Good Luck

Vectorworks 2022 - how do I get rid of this?
AlanW replied to LinseyEvans's question in Troubleshooting
@LinseyEvansHi try this, turn on all classes and select all the zoom all, is there an item way off in the distance?? if so delete it and keep doing so until you only see the main building in the page. Things way off can cause this sort of issue. HTH -

@RideHi i work in 3D a lot with the automatic working plane set which highlights in colour the surface plane you will work on and allows you to work directly on the plane in 3D. this key toggles it off and on " \ ". Also to select things i hold the B key down and you can select the line easier when in open GL. (Shaded) HTH

Materials in Auto Hybrids: 2D hatch not displayed correctly
AlanW replied to Niels Timmer's question in Troubleshooting
@Niels TimmerHi, Looks like you have to put the hatch on the below class of the auto Hybrid. Set the Auto Hybrid up the way i have with classes that way if you move the section plane the drawing changes to section under or above. Creates multiple views by adjusting classes in the viewport. HTH Auto Hybrid Material Hatch v2022.vwx -
@RideHi, I draw a 3d Polygon then extrude along path. Make sure you move the object not the line as it extrudes down centre of object, by positioning the object edge to the line it will be easier. Not sure why the left piece sits out different. HTH Trim.vwx

@TomKenThanks. Will have to do this. Told on TM forum to create a subfolder and add the rotator to this. @Dave DonleyIt would be better if the VW Datasmith was to export the door itself without exploding it then exporting all the little pieces. This appears to happen on all items. Am i missing something in the export or import section??? Thanks
-
Meant to say C4D exporting Alan
-
Hi Finally using Datasmith over 3DS export and the screen resolution heaps better with DataSmith. One issue i find is that in Twin Motion when i import and keep Hierarchy the doors and other items break down into subcomponents, so when i want to put a rotator on a door i have to add all the door components to the rotator rather than one object, the Door. Am i missing something or can this be adjusted so that only the door object is exported rather than all the subcomponents seperatly? With a big file currently the expanded list is way too large. Thanks in advance. Alan

@GalMake sure none of your adjacent modifiers touch or overlap, this causes the terrain to do strange things.

Ant ideas as to why my roof face fill is showing like this?

Ant ideas as to why my roof face fill is showing like this?
AlanW replied to hollister design Studio's topic in Architecture
@Benson Shawthe 2d polys form the basis of generating the 3Droof face and should be deleted when creating the roof or roof face. The roof or face can contain the 2d hatches as well as the 3d texture for either shaded or wireframe. some people ad a hatch over the roof but this is not needed. the component off set has an issue, sometimes the offset is a negative and sometimes its a positive even when you type the same offset. i saw in the file only the none class polylines were causing the problem and not the 3d parts. AlanW replied to hollister design Studio's topic in Architecture
@hollister design StudioHI, the issue is the 2d lines you started with have solid fills (None Class and the computer fills the colour between the ends of the lines. Set all your 2d lines to none fill and should solve your problem. I hope. Alan -
@line-weight LOL thanks, that works 🙂 sometime these have a simple solution looked by different eyes. Thanks again to all and this forum is the best for getting feedback.
