  1. So this is a new feature in 2019 as I can't get it to work in 2018. I did notice in 2019 that the translate view changes a top/plan view to a top view. Great trick though for me it would be most useful if it worked for Section viewports. Often I want to use a live section line but to get the section line in the right place in the reference plan (i.e. get end markers located where I want them), I have to change the length of the section line which changes the viewport and I have to do as Line-weight mentioned - realign the annotations & crop and then reposition the VP back into the correct place on my sheet.
  2. You must have existing geometry (like polygons) to get those areas to appear in your worksheet. If so you can turn them into space objects by using the "Create objects from shapes" command (right click on poly). Alternatively do this (see vid) 2019-06-13 09-32-03.mp4
  3. Yes have had this issue before on wall style fills and it took forever to figure it out. VW seems to revert to the last used setting for each type of line style, hatch etc. Milestone moment - i've just joined the 500 club! Looking forward to the perks of club membership...
  4. So your grid is showing but it is set at 1' spacings. You can even see the blue lines in your screen shot. Try setting the grid spacing the same as your snap spacing. The layout of that dialogue is a bit confusing...
  5. Delete any sensitive stuff and any thing else to reduce file size
  6. Perhaps try; with nothing selected change att palette to a preferred linetype( not the fence line) draw a line if use at creation was on to create a by class solid line what linetype does it change to when you change it in the att palette? Hopefully it changed to your preferred linetype now once again with nothing selected change the line style back to solid draw a line what happens when you change the line style of this line? Hopefully your selected not fence line
  7. I think you might need to explain a bit more clearly what you want.
  8. Could you post a stripped out copy of your file and I can have a look? I noticed that the "show grid" tick box wasn't checked from your screen shot.
  9. So the previous question still stands. Is it activated and just not showing or is it neither? What are your Grid settings and page setup settings? The grid is confined to your page area so make sure you are zoomed to an area inside your page.
  10. Is the grid activated but just not showing? There is a ‘display grid’ button on the top right of your drawing area. If it’s not showing click on the little arrows there and various preference options come up, one of which is to show the display screen button.
  11. Maybe the grid spacings are set too smalll. If you zoom in do they show?
  12. Thanks Wes. i was hoping there was some setting I need to tweak to fix this. I've been putting off upgrading to 2019...
  13. That is very cool. Is there some way, a script or something that will make a list of all the room names (simple text objects) and put them in a worksheet? That way if we already have a drawing with room names on it they can be quickly put into a worksheet and then the marionette run to create space objects.
  14. This is intermittent. Have to restart to get it to stop. I do a lot of drafting in VP annotations so this is a real PITA. I'm using vw2018. Any suggestions? 2019-06-07 09-21-41.mp4
  15. What would be helpful is if space objects could be created from text. That way room text labels could be converted to space objects when the additional functionality of the space object is required and no dealing with lagging space objects until necessary. Or is this already possible via a script?
  16. That’s an autocad trick. You can’t do that with vw. Instead you the shift or ctrl click to do similar
  17. Hey Benson. I highly recommend those third party plugins I mentioned previously. ESP the breakerV tool which does pretty much what you said but with 2 or 3 clicks.
  18. Not sure it helps regenerating space objects but removing some of the visual clutter off the OIP at least helps with my brain processing speed.
  19. Well you could have multiple Boolean fields: ’show on sheet 1’ ’show on sheet 2’ etc on the master sheet you could select which items go to which sheet a bit of a workaround but it would work
  20. OK. I think I'll trial run this worksheet as it is and then look to tidy it up a bit if needed. BTW I slightly tweaked your earlier solution and nested some if statements so that if no "Hours to go" was provided then the "%Finished" would still be 0%. The yellow columns in the screen shot would be the hidden columns.
  21. THANK YOU! Yes that works great. Just one other question.... Is it possible in VW worksheets for a function to insert text or even leave a blank into a decimal or percentage cell? E.g. I would like the cell to say "tba" if information is still to be provided.
  22. Can you add more filters to the criteria? What sort of things are you wanted to schedule? It may not apply to your situation however I had a similar thing recently where I only wanted to show certain drawings in a worksheet that listed all sheet layers that contained a titleblock. I added a boolean record to the title block with a field called "Show in drawing list". The drawing list worksheet then only listed titleblocks where the value of this record field was true. This was good enough however to make things a bit easier I also have an additional "Housekeeping" worksheet for titleblocks where I can globally edit them including drawing number, scale, date etc etc. In this housekeeping worksheet I could also toggle the "Show in drawing list" field to true or false to select which drawings I wanted to show in my drawing list worksheet. Hoe that is helpful.
  23. Thanks Pat. Looks like we need to file this in the too hard basket. (Either that or the 'not worth the effort' basket.) It' not a deal breaker, it just means the worksheets aren't as clean as I'd like them to be, they are still workable. Really appreciate your efforts however! Bo
  24. Hey @Pat Stanford Did this one slip past you? I'm guessing that what I'm asking for isn't possible right? It's no big deal if so, just a nice to have so please don't spend time on it if so. Thanks
  25. This has been Wishlist previously. Their area couple of free third party plugins that you cld use.
