Window ID Labels Not Updating

Daniel s

Question

I'm using 2020, is there a faster way to add window id labels than clicking each window to open the settings?

I've found that I can add a ID label in the object info palette under data but it doesn't update the label on the design layer until you double click the window and then click ok.

If you look at the two screen shots you can see I added the id label in object info but not on the actual window. When I get into the window settings this new label is there. Any time saving tips with this would be helpful.

The quicker way would have been to set it up when creating the window.

But you might also look at using the Data Tag tool instead, which is a new system (i.e. instead of the "Show Tag in 2D" option built into the window object). The current system will likely be phased out so it's worth learning how to use the Data Tag. With the Data Tag tool you can apply the window numbers all at once on a plan (or elevation).
