  1. I have a number of different symbols I want to auto-number and auto-update when a symbol is deleted or added. Is there a way to do this in Version 2022? I have tried using record format linked to the symbol or setting up an incremental data tag but can't figure it out. I can only input each number in the record format which is quite tedious. I'd like to use a data tag similarly to how you can with windows. Applying the numbering to all instances of a particular symbol but I'm not sure if this is possible. If there is anyway to auto number symbols please let me know. We currently have to constantly re-enter numbering for these symbols (bike parking types, car parking types etc.), there must be a way to do this automatically...
  2. I've made a data tag to callout the 'Reference name' from the 'IFC common wall pset' for the wall styles. It works quickly in plan view but when I go to place them in section viewports it takes 10 minutes per tag and the file sometimes crashes. Once it is associated I can move them around but placing them seems to take a lot of computing power when in section viewport. Anyone else have issues with this? is there a better data tag definition that won't cause so much lag? This is V2021 SP5
  3. @Matt Panzer thanks for all the replies. I've put data tags in and it works great. Never realized they could pull data through the sheet viewport as an annotation. works great for section wall/floor tags. The only issue that remains is that the wall data tag in section viewports is very slow. It's just pulling the IFC data - Mark. but it often crashes the file if I try to place them in the viewport annotation
  4. Hi @Matt Panzer Thanks, I'll reach out to them. Is using Data Tags the preferred way to do window/door tags now? I'm using them for walls but I'm not sure how to make them show up in elevation/section viewports. I can only get them to show up in plan. I have the tags showing in elevations how I want. Is it possible to replace 'built in' window/door tags with Data Tag tool and still have them show up in 3d correctly.
  5. Hi @Matt Panzer these are built in tags for doors and windows. They were all placed with correct default font size. They keep randomly shrinking. I've selected them individually several times and resized them from 'text' menu but eventually some of the tags randomly shrink. it has happened several times over the past few months. This is a project share file used by two people.
  6. This has happened in a couple different files. This particular one is in Vectorworks 2021 SP5. several doors and window tags randomly shrink down to miniscule font. If i click on the window and change text size it 'fixes' it. but the issue keeps popping up. These are all styled windows and doors. I've given the tags in the style a font style with the correct font size to try to fix this globally but nothing seems to correct this issue. if anyone has experienced this or knows a permanent solution let me know.
  7. I'm using 2020, is there a faster way to add window id labels than clicking each window to open the settings? I've found that I can add a ID label in the object info palette under data but it doesn't update the label on the design layer until you double click the window and then click ok. If you look at the two screen shots you can see I added the id label in object info but not on the actual window. When I get into the window settings this new label is there. Any time saving tips with this would be helpful.
