B-McG
Can someone tell me if there's a shortcut to change the visibilities of objects I select? I.E. select several objects of which have different classes and change the class visibility of all of them at once. Thanks and sorry if this has been covered already. Bill Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Have you looked at the Visibility Tool? It doesn't work on selected objects like you asked. It works by invoking the tool and clicking on the object to change the visibility of the object's class (or layer). The keyboard short cut is V. And if a class is invisible, holding down the V will make invisible classes temporarily appear. Quote Link to comment
B-McG
Ah, Okay. Sounds like a quick way to do what I want. Will check it out. Thanks!!! Bill Quote Link to comment
markdd
One function you could try with the Visibility tool is the double-click function. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Nice one, Mark! Never tried that before. Way back in the way old times (before I started using VW) there used to be a Hide Selected and Hide Others command. Then there was a Show All to restore. At least that's my understanding of it. The commands are gone, but I think the vector scripting functions are still there. I know they worked a year ago. I've played around with those scripting functions, but I temporarily "lose" enough objects by assigning to incorrect classes. Don't need more ways to make stuff disappear. 🙂 Quote Link to comment
markdd
I think those commands were replaced by the Custom Visibility tool on the Tools menu. You can make scripts with those which work well.... Quote Link to comment
B-McG
Thanks! This is great. When I get drawings from other people I like to quickly create my own saved views so this will save me a lot time. Quote Link to comment
Guest Wes Gardner
Rhino has a great Hide/Show command...I'll put in an Enhancement Request for it...I think it could be useful here as well. Wes Quote Link to comment
E|FA
I had played around a bit with this plugin that might do what you want: https://www.smartpaste.co.uk/product/class-visibility-toolset/ They are a VW "partner": https://www.vectorworks.net/community/partner-community/partner-products/product/smartpaste The website is down right now. I don't know if it's short term or long term. You might try later. Quote Link to comment
