P Bartoli
I have a portion of the drawing I'm currently working on that is rotated by a fixed angle (say 32 degrees). I'd like to rotate the global x,y,z axis to my needs, as I could do with Autocad UCS and Microstation. How can I do this in Vectorworks? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
P Bartoli
BTW, my real problem is working with rotated rectangles. As I rotate the rectangles I lose the ability to change their width/height, as in the Obj Info window I can read only the ROTATED dimensions... Let's say I draw a 3x5 rectangle. As I rotate it by 30 ? I can read the dimensions as 4,53x5,72. If I'd like to modify the original dimensions to 4x5, I have to do some workarounds and can't edit the dimesions diretcly in the Obj Info window. Is there a quick solution to this? P Bartoli
has 3D's Rotate Working Plane some effect on 2d drawings? I tried it out but seems to affect just 3d elements. Mine is a 2d plan... Quote Link to comment
Delmer
Under the Page menu, in Set Grid you can enter a grid angle (whether or not you have the grid showing). This will show you an I and J dimension at the top of the screen as you draw but the OIP on rectangles still only shows the X,Y unfortunately. Quote Link to comment
BG
Paolo, The rotated rectangle problem has always been there since we have used VW, which is quite some time, and it still frustrates us. BG And not being able to rotate the drawing axis is also a frustration that we live with. Quote Link to comment
P Bartoli
I just found a Rotate Page free plugin here: http://www.vectorbits.com/RotateDrawing.html It's almost what I needed. Manuel Garc?a de Paredes has done a very useful tool, thanks Manuel! Quote Link to comment
islandmon
There's also a convenient Rectangle PIO v11.5 "Rectangular Obj" which allows for the resizing of the rect. use WorkSpace Editor to find and place in 2d palette. Quote Link to comment
