MikeN
The layers that I'm creating manually through the layer command window or via the model setup command, are not retaining the elevation data that I'm assigning to them. Whenever I switch from 2D to 3D views, the elevation data reverts to '0' quite frequently. Anyone else have this problem? Any sollutions? Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
i'm not sure I understand what you mean. Are you saying that the layer setup (Z and delta Z) keeps changing, or are you talking about the information on the layer. Quote Link to comment
MikeN
Z data keeps changing.... Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
where does the Z data keep changing? can you be a bit more specific. What dialog/palette are you looking at? describe what you are doing before the Z data changes.. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Are you saying that when you have LAYER> SHOW OTHERS selected, and you go to a 3d view, the layers don't show you their correct z heights relative to each other? If so, then I think you have missed an important point about 3d modeling in VW's: When there is more than one layer invloved, with various z values assigned to various layers, there are only two ways to view the model: first, you can use a LAYER LINK, and second you can use a VIEWPORT. MikeN
the Z data changes in the Layers Setup dialogue box. i set the Z data in the layer before i start drawing, i'll put together a plan or two, switch to a 3D view and all the plan data that i'd set at particular Z co-ordinates has reverted to 0 and the all the layers are at the same elevation. there is no particular instnace which seems to trigger this other than switching from 2D to 3D.
