Scott Latham
Good evening, I am currently working with an event designer that has a truss structure that is made of many different sizes of circle truss to form an amoeba of sorts. Is there an easy way to get a circumference of the entire structure? Thanks. Scott Quote Link to comment
markdd
You could use a worksheet. Is it the circumference or the central chord length? I've worked out a quick formula that should do the chord length. I'm no mathematician so I suggest you check my method!. Enclosed is the file. Sam Jones
You could just trace the chord that you care about with a polyline, using the point on arc mode. You can then read the perimeter from the OIP. If you the structure includes straight lines you can use key strokes to change from point on arc mode to corner vertex mode on the fly. You can also edit the polyline to match using the reshape tool. Quote Link to comment
EAlexander
Trace off with the circle tool will also give you circumference in the OIP. Quote Link to comment
