Sherriff
Hi, This is probably a stupid question, but does anyone know why my Lighting symbols are appearing greyed out? If I zoom or move the page, the symbols look normal, but a few seconds later they revert to grey. I'm on the correct layer, and the symbols are selectable. I've attached two pictures, one is the normal greyed out version and the other is whilst moving. Any help would be gratefully received. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Most often visibility issues are associated with Classes or Layer or Class Options. Do you have the Class Options (or the Layer Options if the lights are on a different Layer) set to Grey or Grey/Snap Others? Do you have the Class the light objects are in set to display as Grey in the Visibility column of the Navigation Palette? (Third column, looks like a light grey eyeball. Second column is Invisible). Sherriff
Thanks for taking the time to get back to me. Classes and Layers are set to Show/Snap others The Class is active The Layer is active The Class and Layers are set to visible. Quote Link to comment
Gabriel Chan
Hi Sheriff, Is there any class nesting in your symbols? It may be a case of the symbol being built from different classes - are those classes on as well? Gabriel Quote Link to comment
Sherriff
Hi If I edit the 2D component of the fixture it is made up of 3 classes, but these all have standard visibilities. Interestingly, if I cut and paste into a new document I don't have the problem... Quote Link to comment
Sherriff
Update. I deleted the layer and removed all instances of the fixtures and Records in the Resource browser. I then imported the fixture from the library onto a different layer and still had the problem. Quote Link to comment
Gabriel Chan
If you don't mind maybe send me a file with just the symbol? Or if this is from a stock inventory shipped with Spotlight just let me know which symbol it is. Gabriel Quote Link to comment
Sherriff
Hi, I've stripped everything else out of the file and attached below. Thanks for looking at this! Ballroom_V11_-_Copy.vwx Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
It has something to do with the LXTest Class. If you edit the Class and check the Use At Creation and click Yes to apply to objects already in the drawing you get the proper display. Beyond that I don't know where the objects are currently getting their attributes from. Quote Link to comment

Gabriel Chan
Happy to know you solved your problem. Apologies for being late to the party, something caught up at work! Quote Link to comment

SCParker
Just have to share. I just spent an hour trying to figure out why my symbols were grey when copying from one file to another. First file, all was fine with nice black lines. Pasted into second file, several symbols were grey. Not all. An hour I tell ya'! I had forgotten that earlier in the day, I had changed the class options to "grey/snap others". Oy. Just had to laugh out loud at myself. Time for bed. Quote Link to comment
