zoomer
Ha, I did exactly the same thing in the late 90ies, for the cars with the 4 rings (Allplan and 3DSMax at that time) I just played a bit with Springs from the mechanical toolbox. I think the don't do exactly what you need - but at least they crashed VW. Quote Link to comment
Phil hunt
Thanks....I was wondering if some kind of lofting would work ..even tried the wall tool and tried pulling it to create the offset....I’ll have a look at the spring.... Quote Link to comment
Marionette Maven Marissa Farrell Posted November 17, 2017 Marionette Maven Share Posted November 17, 2017 I would also suggest looking at Model > 3D Power Pack > Create Helix-Spiral. You could use that to make your spiral shape, ungroup it to get the nurbs curve, and perform an extrude along path command with that as the path and a rectangle as your profile. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
My next attempt : - Extrude Slab (little angled rectangle in top plan) - convert to generic solid - deform tool - bend solid mode - activating in a side view and checking that plane does not jump to auto plane. Untitled 1.vwx I can do "such" things, but don't see any way to do it in a controlled way for certain dimensions. Edited November 17, 2017 by zoomer Quote Link to comment
