jfmarch
i don't think that option exists. you'll have to create your own symbol for such a graphic. by the way, i always thought that graphic was somewhat misleading for door, since it does not show the actual door swing nor the space occupied by the swing... Hugo
I need to change the door projection line from the standard round one to a straight 45? line. How can I do this? I can't find the option in the Object Info palette. VWA 10.1.2 Mac OS X 10.2.6 Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Guest
The swing and space ocupied by the swing is shown in Top/Plan (2d) view. In a Top view, the door is shown shut unless you have 3d Open checked in the OIP. This will only show the door swung open at whatever degree you specify. It does not signal the door swing. Ceiling View also does not show the swing. I've always understood that the door swing line is only shown in a top plan view, and is not displayed in 3d. I could be wrong, but that's what I learned way back when .. [ 09-05-2003, 09:48 AM: Message edited by: Katie ] Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Hi Hugo, Sorry to intrude but - I'm really curious why you would want to show a door's swing as a straight line?? Every (swing) door I've ever seen defines an arc with its swing. Peter Quote Link to comment
Hugo
Katie, What I'm trying to do is having the swing line straight instead of round, in a top plan view. Thanks. Hugo Quote Link to comment
Guest
Hugo, I understand what you want, but you can't do it unless you create your own door symbols. What I was saying was the arc door swing in plan view is the CAD standard as far as I am aware. Using a straight line for the door swing would not meet most cad standards. Is there a cad standard that uses a straight line for the door swing? Quote Link to comment
Hugo
I know that, you are right. But I'm working together with other people and they have decided to draw the swing lines straight, not rounded. It is just an aesthetic consideration, just wanted to know if it was posible. Guest
It's only possible if you don't want to use the door objects that come with VW and plan on creating your own -- OR -- editing the ones in the program by converting to groups, changing the arc and recreating the hybrid symbol. P Retondo
Hugo, you can convert the PIO to a symbol, then edit the 2D representation. Quote Link to comment
