jmartinarch
Are there any bugs known with the attributes palette? I have a class with fill style set to "None". In the AP, fill style is set to "By Class" The result should be text without fill or background. I get text with a bright red background that I have to manually change. Why does it just behave on its own? Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
What kind of object are you using? Some objects have multiple parts that can have different classes. Do you have any classes that have the red fill? Quote Link to comment
jmartinarch
Object? Text. Yes I have a class with red fill but not the current class and not the "text" class. Edited April 18, 2016 by jmartinarch Quote Link to comment
zoomer
Strange. Why doesn't your Attribute Window show the fill color field ? It does for me, when I select a Text Object. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted April 18, 2016 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 18, 2016 Are there possibly Text Styles associated with either the object itself or with its Class attributes? Quote Link to comment
zoomer
Strange. Why doesn't your Attribute Window show the fill color field ? It does for me, when I select a Text Object. Maybe because you deactivated Filling in your Class  Quote Link to comment
jmartinarch
I don't want to have a fill associated with the text. But now i have selected solid fill - white and moved on.. Too many of these little quirks. Time consuming to try to resolve. Does anyone know: do typical VW users, use VW just for prelim design / models and then switch to something else for actual const. doc's? I just can't seem to tame the beast! Not giving up yet.. Maybe I just have some issue with my installation because my windows get filled and text gets filled....my installation is just fixed on filling things. Quote Link to comment
Kizza
Some ideas... 1) Check that the class with the text assigned is set to use on creation 2) Check that any text styles have been assigned to the class (see Jim's post above) 3) Check the attributes default behaviour is set to "by class". see pic attached. 4) Check the organisation palette and see if there is a class in the document with a red fill. Make sure the text object is assigned to the correct class (an obvious one, I know, but if the default for the AP is set by class...) If the above doesn't work then I would try "Remove by class setting" and then reselect "by class setting" in the AP. otherwise I'm not sure.. Quote Link to comment
jmartinarch
Thanks for suggestions. I checked and unchecked this and that and then set all attributes to by class - after verifying class settings were correct. Seems to be working fine now. Thanks again. Quote Link to comment
