whashisface
I think it would be really useful to be able to display a single object on multiple layers/storeys. For example: - Columns in double height spaces. - Curtain walling - particularly using the new curtain walling tool for 2015. I know this is possible on ArchiCad just by ticking a box but is there something similar that I can do in VWs? Thanks in advance. Edited January 27, 2015 by whashisface Quote Link to comment

0 Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted January 27, 2015 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 27, 2015 This has been submitted, its a massive re-engineering of a huge number of tools however, not something they can enact quickly. I am not privy to everything that goes on in engineering, but the entire layer/story/level system has been getting a lot of attention. Quote Link to comment
0 whashisface
Thanks for submitting it Jim. I appreciate that it's probably a bit of a faff. If the whole layer/storey/level is getting lots of attention can I request that sections and elevations are located somewhere else and not within the storey/layer system? This was obviously fine when everyone worked in 2D but I don't really think it cuts it these days with 3D workflows. I also hate the fact that I can't have my 3D view in a separate window. Instead spending loads of time turning layers on and off when I want to switch between 3D and 2D views [i know I could use saved views but it's not that intuitive]. Rant over! I think it would be really useful to be able to display a single object on multiple layers/storeys. For example:

- Curtain walling - particularly using the new curtain walling tool for 2015.
I know this is possible on ArchiCad just by ticking a box but is there something similar that I can do in VWs?
Thanks in advance.
